True Three Kingdoms: Hero Gathering is a solid addition to the crowded Three Kingdoms strategy genre, though it leans heavily on familiar tropes. As an expert in mobile RTS, I was impressed by the character art and the sheer number of recruitable generals from the Han dynasty era. The combat animations are surprisingly fluid for a card-based strategy game.

However, the game doesn't quite break new ground in terms of mechanics. If you've played Gacha-style kingdom builders before, you will feel right at home with the city management and the tiered equipment systems. The social/guild warfare is where the game really comes alive—coordinating with allies to take over major cities on the world map is thrilling. It’s a grind, but a very polished one with a high production value that fans of the era will appreciate.
