Unlike standard 2D fighters of its era, it allows for movement in three dimensions (similar to a beat-'em-up) and features a heavy emphasis on using weapons and environmental objects. This port by Hamster Corporation is flawless, offering the pixel-perfect original experience with modern conveniences like quick-saving and online rankings.

The game is notorious for its 'unrestricted' feel—you can dash, jump, and brawl across a large field. The character roster is small but full of personality, and the addition of the 'Crazy Max' meter keeps the tension high. For fighting game purists, the touch controls might be a hurdle, but the ability to customize the virtual pad and the support for external controllers makes it a great addition to any retro fan's library. It's a chaotic, fun, and technically impressive conversion of a hidden cult classic.

I remember seeing this in the arcades and thinking it was a mess. Playing it again now... well, it’s still a mess, but a charming one. It tried to bridge the gap between Street Fighter and Final Fight, and while it doesn't quite succeed at either, the result is unique. The lane-shifting movement is weird, but the ability to beat someone over the head with a shovel in a 'fair' fight is always a plus.

Hamster’s emulation is top-notch as usual, but let’s be honest: playing a precise 90s fighter on a touchscreen is an exercise in futility. If you don't have a Bluetooth controller, don't even bother. It’s a great piece of history, but the high difficulty and 'quarter-munching' AI will turn off anyone who didn't grow up in a smoky arcade.
