Mahjong Solitaire is the digital equivalent of oatmeal: it’s not thrilling, but it does the job. This 'All-in-One' package is effectively every layout the developer has ever made stuffed into one app. I appreciate the simplicity; there are no unnecessary storylines or 'character collections' here. Just tiles and a board.
The UI is a bit dated, looking like it hasn't changed since the first iPad launched, but it’s functional. The music is 'nice' in a 'waiting room' sort of way. If you want a distraction while you're half-watching the news, this is perfect. It’s hard to find fault with something so purely functional, but it’s also hard to get excited about it. It’s exactly what it says it is, nothing more.
