American Classic Poker is a solid, no-frills entry into the mobile card game market. It focuses on the pure experience of Texas Hold 'em without the over-the-top animations or intrusive ads that plague other poker apps. It’s Poker. I’ve seen a thousand versions of this. This one doesn't have the high-gloss production of World Series of Poker or the social features of Zynga. It’s just... there. The UI is 'classic' in that it looks like it was designed in 2012. It’s utilitarian.

The player pool seems decent, and the connection is stable, but there’s no hook. No unique progression, no interesting avatars, just cards and chips. If you just want to play a quick hand without a bunch of anime characters or flashy animations, this might be for you. But for most gamers, there are far more polished options available for free.
