Bridge Scorepad is a masterclass in utility design for hobbyists. Scoring for Bridge can be notoriously complex, especially when switching between Rubber, Chicago, and Duplicate styles, but this app handles the math with effortless precision. It effectively replaces the traditional paper scorepad with a digital interface that feels familiar yet vastly more capable. The 'Large Font' option on iPad is a thoughtful touch, making the scores visible to everyone around the card table.

What sets this apart from basic calculators is the depth of reporting. Being able to email a PDF of the scoresheet or print it via AirPrint makes it an essential tool for organized Bridge clubs. The inclusion of the 2004 International Laws of Contract Bridge as a reference within the app is the cherry on top, settling table disputes instantly with official rules. It's a niche tool, but for its intended audience, it is indispensable.

I’m reviewing this as a game because it’s in the game category, but let’s be clear: this is a spreadsheet with a better UI. You can’t play Bridge here. You just type in numbers. As a gamer, this is useless to me. As a Bridge player? It’s fine, I suppose, but it feels like a relic from the PDAs of the late 90s.

I’m not giving a high score to a calculator. It doesn't even have a tutorial for people who might want to learn how the scoring works. It assumes you’re already an expert. It’s functional for its very narrow purpose, but from a gaming perspective, it’s a zero. I’ll give it some points for not crashing, but that’s the bare minimum.
