91/100

Brotato is an absolute masterclass in the 'Survivor' lite-roguelike subgenre. As an expert in action roguelikes, I was impressed by how it differentiates itself from Vampire Survivors by focusing on a 'wave-based' structure and a deep, inventory-driven shop phase. The ability to equip up to six weapons at once allows for insane build variety, from a gunslinging potato to a melee-focused tank.

The mobile port is exceptionally well-handled, with auto-firing mechanics that feel native to the touch screen. The variety of playable potatoes—each with distinct stat modifiers—ensures that no two runs feel the same. It’s addictive, fast-paced, and offers a perfect difficulty curve that rewards both tactical planning and quick reflexes. For anyone who enjoys high-intensity action and the satisfaction of finding a broken, overpowered build, Brotato is a top-tier mobile title.

Dinsun Review

I’ve played the PC version extensively, so I know how good Brotato is at its core. It’s the ultimate 'just one more run' game. The depth of the item pool and the way different weapons synergize with character stats is nothing short of brilliant. It makes Vampire Survivors look simplistic by comparison. On mobile, the controls are adequate, though they lack the precision needed for the highest 'Danger' levels. The auto-fire works well enough, allowing you to focus on the frantic dodging required to survive the 20 waves.

My main gripe is the mobile port's economy. On PC, you unlock characters through skill; here, there's a heavy push toward currency and paywalls for content that should be earned. It cheapens the experience. However, the gameplay itself remains top-tier. It's ugly, it’s chaotic, and it’s incredibly satisfying when a build finally comes together and you melt the final boss in seconds. It’s a 90-score game wearing a 70-score mobile wrapper.
