A gem, beautiful and original!
Fri Sep 01 2017 RSD31Art and music are both lovely. Game mechanics are novel but still feel familiar. This is game design done right!

Lovely Game
Wed Nov 01 2023 SimpleStan599Feels very zen to play, would recommend.
It isn't for everyone.
Mon May 23 2011 LilexxJust because you don't like an app doesn't mean you should question ratings. The description is there for a reason, you read it and decide whether or not to buy the app. You take a chance. The only reason it's so expensive is because it look long to make and that is clearly visible by the laboriously crafted screenshots. Either way, you spend more buying a box of donuts or some other expendable item as opposed to an app you can play wherever, whenever and pass on to family and friends. Big expense... Not.
This game is beautiful, simple and sweet. I was so impressed I picked up Simogo's other app Kosmos Spin (and suggest it to everyone else!) and have not regretted it. I'm reluctant to buy apps, and Bumpy Road being the most expensive I've ever picked up, I was hesitant. But it's a good game with subtleties to appreciate beyond the gameplay itself. There's a lovely immersive story. It's simplistic. Not to mention, brand new and still awaiting what will likely be amazing updates. So be patient. (Apple wouldn't feature it if it wasn't noteworthy - that said, not everyone should jump on the bandwagon.)
If this game isn't for you there are plenty of birds waiting up high in the branches of the App Store. Nuff said.
A totally new take on the randomized platformer runner genre!
Thu May 19 2011 Lord GekI love how, even though both "Evergreen Ride" and "Sunday Trip" feature randomized courses with the same basic gameplay, they're pretty unique beasts.
Evergreen Ride: It is all about getting the points! Your score is a combination of the distance you traveled (before running out of fuel or falling in a puddle), gizmos collected, and all of the things you did on your trip (bonus stages triggered, springs bounced on, pictures found, edges hung off, etc.).
Sunday Trip: This is all about completing the trip (a set length but still in a fairly randomized course) as quickly as possible. In this mode gizmos and stop watches will help you reduce the official final time of your trip. The sporadic turbo boosts icons can be used to give you a little extra momentum. Since this mode has no hazards you will always be able to finish your trip, it is just a matter of how efficiently you do so. I love how this game mode has you constantly weighing cruising the course as quickly as possible with going slightly off your ideal path to snag some extra boosts, stop watches, and gizmos.
Worth It
Wed Apr 03 2013 BryanwWhen I first saw this game, what attracted me was both the visuals and soundtrack. These are indeed what I enjoy most about it. The Memory Lane is not what I expected, but touching and satisfying. It is the most I've spent on an app, but the creators deserve it. Simply visit their website; their effort and dedication to their fan base is evident. Innovative developers like these should be supported. The asking price is understandable; they aren't a huge operation, it seems. There are two main modes: Evergreen Ride and Sunday Trip. I found Evergreen Ride most enjoyable, for the photos you collect are the draw for me. The controls aren't perfect, but their what set this app apart from its competition. I would like to see Winter as an option for Evergreen Ride. That would make me very happy.
Adorable but needs work
Sun May 22 2011 DecottiAs some others have stated already, the game is visually enchanting and the story is incredibly charming but the controls and camera are where this little adorable gem fails. I have played the game numerous times and although I've gotten used to the controls, there are moments when I want to move the car and end up jumping instead. The game is not terribly challenging, it's just the controls that make it so. Also, as was mentioned, the "fixed" state of the camera irks me to no end because you're unable to see what's ahead if you're going faster than what the game wants. This makes it hard to grab the memories along with jumping over pitfalls; you need to gain speed to make a jump but you can't see it till it's too late (despite the road signs) which results in another drop into a pitfall...which results in frustration. Other than these issues, I love this game and the idea very much so please fix!
Very good
Fri Sep 16 2011 Tebow15#1Firstly, I'm bringing up the facts that the other reviewers lack. Now, u say there's nothing to work for when u don't have levels, but when u get free game center on your iPhone and iPad, u can get achievements. Also, u can feel like u have progressed when your on your 10th day in the game. Now about the controls. In a way, there is multi touch. U can use 1 thumb to make the car go backwards, and your other thumb to make it go forward. Oh, and if your launching cars into holes, that's not the games fault. Your just bad at playing, cuz I used to do that to, but u get the hang of it. Oh, and FYI, the plot is just that they r takin a drive thru town, and if u don't like it, then obviously u didn't read the info, u just bought it.
So all in all, it's a great game. If your looking for cuteness and u have game center, buy it. If your a geeky game addict who has a t-mobile phone or something with no game center, don't. Sorry if some of the other reviewers feel kinda stupid, but it's the truth. :)
Beautiful but needs work on the controls
Sat May 21 2011 ldorajReally enjoying your game. It's so pretty and I love the idea. The amount of details that were accounted for in the art and animation add so much to the experience.
That being said, It's not very much fun. I think it has a huge amount of potential to be fun but in it's current state the controls feel limiting. When I first picked it up and started playing the first level I slid my finger on the road and figured out the controls pretty easily. It's frustrating having such a great control scheme without the freedom of being able to really use it. I don't want to be stopped by the right hand side of the screen. If I choose to try and go really fast in the car, the screen should pan with me.
Once again, great work with all of the visuals. I think if you guys really nail down this problem you will have a massive hit on your hands. Good luck! :)
Much more than I expected
Thu Jun 16 2011 HudmasterI took a gamble and bought this game for three dollars before any reviews had been written, and there where still too few ratings for the App Store to give Bumpy Road and average rating. As I opened the app after it completed downloading, I was consumed in the magic of that new-app-feel. After just a few rides, I was engrossed in the game's incredible design and lovely feel. The music in the background is so beautiful and perfectly fitting for this game. The style of the drawings and animations makes Bumpy Road somewhat more of a movie than a video game, and I want to play it over and over again all day long.
Thank you Simogo for making a truly wonderful game.
