Mon Mar 10 2025 Toasted-WalnutTo put it simply, it is the best mobile game. Not only does it prompt the meditated strategy and thought, it does so without warming up your phone. Clash Royale does not require the graphics nor the open world aspects that have such a firm grasp on quality mobile games. It is like chess, chess does not require the athletic means in many physical sports like soccer or football, but it relies more so on the analyzation and cerebral aspects of the human body. Clash Royale needs no 3d rendered open world platform to receive accolades of admiration. Many other people believe that Clash Royale is too “pay to win,” a concept of implication in monetary aspects to progress and succeed in the game. Yet given the freedom at which you can install the game, at a cost no greater and no less than zero, one must ask themselves as to how much they would spend to acquire another game of such quality. Monetary imposition is generally absent until much later in the game, and it would be so, that in such a case one would have already spent enough time and have experienced the game enough to make a purchase. The game however, is of course entirely free to play, and one can “max” their deck without spending a dime, this of course would take longer, but in any case the quality of game to money spent ratio is far less than most of the other platforms one could find on a search for a game of grand excellency.
This is an awesome game. A few problems though…
Wed Jan 29 2025 Heathbar199This game is very good, it is a fun time-waster, and always keeps you coming back for more. It has many different units to choose from to build a great deck to destroy your opponents! Updates come out relatively fast, and always add something big, like new cards or evolutions!
There are some problems though, for example the star levels. I thought that they would be an actual upgrade, but it just made my cards look ugly. I would like to be able to remove the star levels and make my cards look normal again. Also, there should be an easier way to friend people after a battle. For example, I had fun playing against someone in a game, but there was no way to send a friend request in the battle, and I don’t even think there is a way to find them again unless I get lucky in a battle, and even if I did I wouldn’t be able to friend him because you can only do that in 2v2 battles. (I might just be bad at finding buttons though, and there might be an easy way to do this, and I am just overthinking idk.)
In conclusion, this is a great game that is always fun to play, with a few problems that could be fixed. Developers, if u are reading this, please consider making it a feature to remove star levels and friend people through 1v1 battle. Thanks!
June 19th Update Undeniably Dissapointing
Tue Feb 06 2024 A midgitI don’t usually leave reviews but there was no need to add level 15. The disparity between level 15 and 14 is unreal. It is extremely difficult for a level 14 player to go against a seasoned level 15 player, all else being equal the level 15 will have a massive advantage. The introduction of card evolution to 2 of the most over played and arguably over powered cards in the game is an idiocy. Im not quite sure what the developers were thinking with this one. Neither card evolution or level 15 makes me want to play more but rather finally give up the game after 7 years. The statistics don’t lie, the game has been going down hill since 2018. To the developers, have you taken the time to actually listen to what the people who play the game are saying? The first couple years of clash where the best. Take the time to ruminate on why that was. Less is more, but for some reason more and more useless add ons are added in a futile attempt to spike interest. I understand companies need to make money. But its a fact that, “pigs get slaughtered”. The devs will reap what they have sewn. Update: The devs heard our complaints and responded accordingly with a mortar that shoots goblins! Thank you! This is exactly what the player base has been asking for. So glad that our complaints have reached the devs ears. Please balance the game further by adding a mega knight evolution that is followed by 6 rockets upon spawning!
I loved this game until...
Wed May 19 2021 Zelta1234I liked the game back in 2018 but now it's garbage. Why may you ask why? The main reason is because match making is broken. Imagine fighting a higher level then you are with 300+ more HP, and DMG. Doesn't seem fair at all and it needs to be fix! It needs to be where you can only fight with your level. Essentially how the game works is that the amount of time and effort you take in playing this game comes out as your level. More time more Xp, is how the game works if you play it normally. So a level 12 shouldn't up with a level 13 because the xp difference between 12 and 13 is significant. I don't remember but it's expensive get to level 13. I want to even dare say that no one has a maxed account without any money being spent. It's how difficult the game really is. However I do love the graphics, there crispy and animated well. Also this barely takes much space and for me not much cellular data is being used. I love draft mode because it's random and makes things actually skilled based. Some modes are good some are meh but most of them are fun for awhile. I recommend playing for a year or two before you get tired of playing it. It seems fun at first but once you it your end point where you can't gain much trophies anymore it kinda get pointless. I don't like how you get into another challenger and feel like nothing has happened. It seems good at first but once you reach that point it gets boring.
Best Mobile Game but Bit of issues
Sat Mar 22 2025 2klover63Clash Royale is indeed the BEST mobile game on the AppStore by far right now. But, not everything is sunshines and rainbows. There is some issues with the aspect of the game. The 1st problem is Offers. The game has a shop where you could buy offers with your coins, gems, and money. Clash Royale always has these offers that says something like 10x Offer or 50x offer. Clash Royale is using that as tactic for people to buy stuff and they actually are not that valuable and even the offers are actually overpriced. 2nd issue, non-skill cards, as a player who played since 2019, I have encountered a lot of cards in my years and Clash Royale always have these cards that are just broken and you don’t need to have skill (Ex: Mega Knight, Firecracker, Hog Rider, etc.) If Clash Royale balances these cards, the game will actually be balanced and fair. 3rd and final issue, PAY TO WIN, I played this game since 2019 and for the past like 2 years, the game started to get p2w by tremendously, now the game has Level 15 cards that you need 50k wild cards for and if you don’t spend money that much, it’s a nightmare and evolutions, you can get evolution shards F2P, but it’s 1-3 every like 30 days and you need 6 for 1 evolution, so that’s like maximum 2-6 months for 1 card evolution. But, the game has evolution offers in the store that cost money. I love this game with all my heart, BUT FIX THESE ISSUES!
This game was life changing
Thu Jun 12 2025 Me12345,In 2008 I was born. From the moment of my birth this game has impacted my life. My mother would play this game on full blast when I was a baby. By the time I was 1 I had memorized every card in the game and could easily beat any challenger. But as time went on I started to drift away from the game. When I was 4 I even downloaded another game on Iphobe. My parents beat me for this and broke everything I owned including multiple of my bones. Of course they were in the right, if I ever wanted to be the best I would have to remove every other obstacle in my life. I moved to communist Russia shortly after to further pursue my dreams of clash royalty. In Russia I owned nothing and was able to completely focus on my clash game. I quickly rose the ranks and entered the top 10 clash player in Russia by 8 years of age. At this point I was spending about 20 hr a day playing clash. I often skipped meals and rarely slept who h I attribute to my success. Unfortunately my good run had to come to an end. At 11 the Russian mafia had gotten into clash betting and asked me to throw games for them. I refused and they broke my hands. Without hands I couldn’t play clash, I became depressed. I tried to play through the pain but ended up rupturing multiple tendons. So what did I do? I LEARNED TO ADAPT. Now I’m one of the best player in the world, with my feet.

Me, being the person I am, decided to tap on it to see what this game was, just for the kicks and giggles. As soon as I saw the pictures of gameplay, I saw a stark resemblance. Basically, this game is a blatant rip-off of Clash Royale in every way possible. Same map design, same character style, even *possibly* stolen assets from Clash Royale. And needless to say, it was a dumpster fire. And of course, me being me again, I have the instinct to check the ratings on any game that is visibly garbage. And to my surprise- *dramatic pause* -there were ratings that were quite literally copy and paste over again THREE TIMES! THREE! TIMES! SAME RATING! Not to mention other blatantly fake / AI ratings. No, a bootleg Clash Royale money grab will NOT cure your addiction to smoking (yes I’m not joking, they literally said that). They even call themselves, “Clash The Royale Team!” This is ridiculous! They IMPERSONATED you guys! Honestly, you should probably check it out, and Apple, if you see this, you should probably do something. They are using fake accounts to get themselves higher ratings, and impersonating the clash royale team. To the genuine team, keep up the good work! Your game is great and I enjoy it a lot!
Fun game, but is toxic most times
Sun Apr 30 2023 xssww see wfffscsdwcwUnbalanced, encourages toxic play and the player base is rude, it can be fun at times but most games have someone using cheap tactics and then emoting when they win. The game seems fine in competitive play and near at the end of the game(idk how else to say what I mean) but the path to getting there is filled with annoyances if you don’t use a pre made deck or some cheap tactic, people who want to be creative with their decks usually have no chance because cards like, e-barbs, mega knight, egaint, and play styles like log bait and hog 2.6 (as well as over leveling) are hard to defend especially in mid ladder, which is the main way to progress. There are bad decks that barely work in any situation but I’m not talking about that, I’m sure many players can relate when I say, if you’re not using a premade deck or a specific card combo or a deck made to counter those decks and cards then it will be really annoying to progress, especially when your opponent spams emotes when they win. The only thing I could think of doing would be make those cards I’ve talked about available at a higher arena, where the skill is higher. This not only would encourage players to get to those higher arenas but it would give other players more experience and skill to counter those toxic things. Also, just another opinion but calling card levels at your king level would be nice, and stop the overleveling problem.
What Went Wrong
Sun Oct 23 2022 Alexaa80Honestly speaking this game has been such an addicting and fun game to play. From the launch it was somewhat balanced and fun and each update had something decent and new to keep the game fresh, clean, and playable. Recently, matchmaking has not made any sense statistically with me (lvl 11) going against a lvl 10 or 11 with max level Cards. It’s literally not fun anymore. You go into one game and notice the opponent is a level underneath you but has a whole deck of maxed out cards and you think to yourself how are they possibly a level below you with this many upgrades cards and it just doesn’t make sense. Every match I say “okay it’s just this one person with this leveled cards” but it’s consistent every single match. The only possible way you can actually enjoy the game in the higher arenas are 1) pay for the books and coins to max out your cards 2) somehow come up with a deck that counters max level cards with your lower level cards. It’s just not enjoyable anymore. I don’t know whether the addition to the books was a good idea because I have taken a break from the game, come back and it’s still the same issues that have gotten even worse. I honestly don’t know how they could fix the game but a game where you’re paired off tower levels even though the enemy’s cards are 2 3 levels higher than yours will not be enjoyable in the long run. Please do something about this game.
Matchmaking isn’t the best
Tue Mar 15 2022 Matt22gamerThis game is absolutely amazing and I love the fundamentals of this and how great the graphics are that being said I’m going to explain why I give this game a three star. The matchmaking for this game is terrible I will be getting level 12 or 10 more than an opponent equal level to me ( level 11). Whenever I go on a win streak of 5 or more after that win streak is over I get nothing else but loses for the next week. This game is more of a pay to win game because buying gems can get you more cards and coins to upgrade your cards beyond the level they are supposed to be in their arena. I admit I have spend money once on this game to get my pekka to level 14 and it was through the pass Royale. Ever since then I have been trying opponents far greater than I am. This game also needs to balance out more of these cards. Recently I went up against a player with all level 14 cards. Their level 14 witch and skeletons withstood my level 11 poison and ended up taking my tower. Out of all the cards the witch should be nerfed the most. A level 8 witch has taken out a level 11 mega knight. The spawn rate of the skeletons for the witch should be bumped up to 8 seconds because a witch should not be able to take a mega knight out with ease only with skeletons. That all being said I enjoy this game nether the less and hope to see the matchmaking fixed at least so myself and others aren’t out ranked.
