Really fun mysteries
Tue Aug 11 2020 😰😰worriedOk so this app is really fun you immediately get boosters that help you beat the first few levels I kept seeing ads for this game and thought 💭 well I do like mysteries then when I played it was exciting and fun most games have many many ads but this game has none! I was very happy 😊 about that and bonus most of their offers cost 1 dollar 😱can you believe that and the offers have tons of boosters and gems which is so awesome 👏🏻 I really like this game and recommend it to people who love mysteries and thrilling adventures and guess what else there are daily challenges and if you run out of boosters some of them only cost 5 gems 😱omg can you believe that and wait there’s more you can create your own avatar and neat name and it was very hard to pick Which avatar I wanted but I finally chose and I was very happy with my decision on getting this app sorry 😐 if this was a long review but I really had to tell the world about this awesome app thank the app owners for such an amazing game and when you’re bored this activity is a great game to play. Hope you enjoyed this review bye and give the credit to the creators 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍🥰😝😆I wish I could write more but there is too much fun I want to get back to playing this game bye
Fun game, but latest update disappointing
Mon Sep 09 2024 cotdgirlI’ve been playing this game for years, and I don’t really understand the complaints about the ads. Maybe I’ve just become immune to them, but my experience this year was the only time you saw ads was when you wanted something extra. You could continue by watching an ad, get an extra spin in the daily gift wheel, get an extra life, etc. I haven’t seen any ads that I didn’t specifically choose to watch.
The game is really generous with free play time too. I noticed a couple of complaints that if you win 2 hours of free play time and you can’t use it all at once, you lose it. That’s true, but all games I play with free play time work the same way, so that doesn’t bother me. I think it’s pretty standard. And it’s pretty rare when I don’t get free play time the next time I play. Like I said, they are generous.
The ONLY reason this is 4 star instead of 5 star is that it appears in the last update, they completely eliminated the opportunity to watch an ad to continue an ad. It went from being able to watch up to 3 ads for each continue that gave you 3 turns, then 2 turns, and then 2 turns with a booster) to switching it to 2 turns, 3 turns, and the 2 turns with booster to eliminating altogether. I haven’t seen it since the last update! Now the only option is to pay. This is really disappointing, especially since it was the only time I had to watch ads, and it was still my choice.
So close to 5*’s!
Mon Mar 11 2024 IkebroflofskiClockmaker is one of the very best puzzle games of this type. It truly does cater to my A.D.D./O.C.D. addicted to puzzle games nature. Excellent graphics, smooth gameplay and fun themes and great mini games for cool prizes. Also the only game of the type that utilizes social media in a much better way for freebies and so much more. The drawbacks that cause the 4 rather than 5* rating are as follows: 1. The pricing for some of the power ups is beyond ridiculous; i.e. the dynamite power up (very handy especially for the super challenging must beat in one turn levels) has a hefty cost of 30 rubies for only 3 dynamite power ups. The pricing structure of buying rubies for $ means you must spend a minimum of $10 which would get you only 6 of them, which I’d make the comparison that dynamite power ups make the $4/gallon gas prices look cheap. 2. The mini games: Many of them are excellent but 2 gripes of mine are: Some of the best ones last such a short time, there no way to complete them without spending an entire paycheck (come on developers), the second issue is it seems with the mini games that the levels are simply the same 6 puzzles being regurgitated with very little if any efforts applied to add more challenge types. 3. Make rubies a bit more available to win during gameplay, winning them is pretty well impossible and honestly you’d make a lot more money being less greedy 😁
Pay to win
Fri May 16 2025 kxxxxxyuhhThis game looks nice and I like the idea of the story and rebuilding the town. But it very quickly becomes just another pay-to-win game with endless pop ups asking you to make micro transactions after every level or every loss. I know the developers have the canned response that “all levels can be passed without making any purchases” but the reality is that this isn’t the whole truth and is, in fact, disingenuous. The level difficulty increases rapidly and to the point that even a skilled player can become stuck on the same level for days or weeks if they do not purchase power-ups and other aides. While it may be true that eventually, after weeks of playing the same level over and over, it can one day be beaten, that doesn’t mean that it is fun or enjoyable to be stuck in the same place for that long. The game is designed to frustrate you, then bombard you with the pop ups asking you to make purchases, knowing that many people will eventually give in and make a small purchase. Then after that it becomes easier to hook them into making another purchase the next time they get stuck, and so on. These types of games are designed to prey on people who are predisposed to gambling, and to hook them in the same way. So with all of that being the case, I am uninstalling. I don’t gamble, and the game isn’t worth sinking money into simply to be able to advance to the next level. I dislike this business model and choose to only play games that are fair.
Disappointing
Sat Jan 04 2025 MickJagger22I actually really like this game but every time I get on it it’s always like 5 different pop ups begging me to purchase something. When you go up levels it’s gets harder of course but like extremely hard to the point to where you have to purchase stuff just to complete the levels. It’s disappointing because it is actually a fun game but I will say this game is increasingly harder than the other games in its category. I actually don’t have a lot of issues with ads I’ve rarely gotten an ad. I’ve been on the same level for the past 3 days it’s annoying I’ve tried this level several different times and even used the boosts they gave me and it still wasn’t enough to beat it. I play matching games all the time I have several downloaded. I’m all for a good challenge but this game is more challenging than it should be to be honest. Please make the game more enjoyable and entertaining when it comes to completing the levels not saying it has to be easy just not impossible.
Update: after reading the other reviews HOW HAVEN’T you guys fixed this game??? So many people are saying the same as me! You guys reply with the same answers to every bad review. Same old same old. You guys are greedy!! I read one review where y’all literally replied telling them to purchase VIP when they were talking about y’all being greedy. Good job proving them right. Looks like I will be uninstalling!
Generally enjoy, ads getting obnoxious
Thu Dec 09 2021 AncipitalmeI’ve been playing this game on and off for a couple years. In general the game is fun and the art and characters are fun and high quality. There is a *bit* of a cringe factor with the various racially/ethnically/culturally stereotyped sub-characters that appear for special events, but maybe I’m just being too woke.
However, I’ve been enjoying the game less and less due to ad proliferation. It used to be that ad content was only required when you opted to watch a video for a boost or some other bonus. However, starting maybe six months ago or so ads are now shoved down your throat randomly when you finish levels - regardless of whether you win or not. Just trying to close out of a level can now prompt an inescapable ad. It’s so frustrating. I don’t want to have to watch some solitaire ad promising me “real money” when all I want to do is get back to the main map.
And to be clear, I have gladly spent actual money on this game to purchase boosts or during special promotions to get boosts and gems (the game’s in-game currency). I have no problem with giving them a little bit of my money to enjoy their game now and then. But the marked proliferation of unclosable ads that randomly interrupt my gameplay makes me not want to play the game, which means they don’t get my money often anymore either.
Belarusian developers
Sun Jul 21 2024 sueinnhI enjoyed this game for years, until they became more and more greedy. It is impossible to advance without making purchases. On top of that, the increasing pop up ads are constant. Their “support” is terrible. I see more and more complaints where they make excuses for freezes and glitches and usually blame the players or our internet connections. The last straw came when I learned they are from Belarus! Enough! I resigned from my “Society” and deleted the app. I will not support any Belarusian or Russian apps. In looking at the negative reviews, of which there are many, I see the biggest complaint is the relentless ads. The developers’ excuse is that they need the ad money in order to improve the game. Where is the improvement?! The glitches, freezes, getting booted out are worse than ever! If they receive all this money from ads, then why are they charging players more and more to get anywhere? I am glad I deleted this app! Stand with Ukraine! According to my research, Belka Games is headquartered in Belarus. If this is incorrect, please update me. I do not want to spread misinformation. You did not address my major complaint which is the unrelenting ads.
Updated review: I reviewed this app 2 years ago and then deleted it. I just checked in to read the latest reviews and guess what? Same complaints! The major one still is the constant ads! I won’t be rejoining anytime soon. Thanks for ruining a fun game!!!
HELP! I NEED AN INTERVENTION!
Mon Mar 11 2024 Nutterbutter_beanAlmost every positive review of every successful game contains the over-used term, “addictive”, and Clockmaker is no different, but in its case, there’s really no other word for it. It should come with a warning label stating something like: “Beware! This game has been know create compulsive behaviors within the player causing the person to become withdrawn and fixated only on the evil Clockmaker and those whom stand against him. Seek immediate attention should any three of the following symptoms simultaneously occur: weight loss, inability to complete sentences, loss of employment, incoherent muttering, and hands permanently in the white-knuckle clutch position”
In all seriousness, I love this game, and I KNOW the developers love me; or rather, my bank account. I’m sure I’ve paid for some of their vacations or kitchen remodels, but I’m helpless to stop playing/paying. So if you’re anything like me and lack self-discipline, stick with games that are truly free to play, because this game WILL happily bankrupt you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you …
Now, if you don’t mind, I must get back to my game. I haven’t played for over half an hour, and I’m starting to sweat, twitch, and grind my teeth. Withdrawal ain’t pretty, y’all!
Beautiful game but greed has certainly taken over…
Sat Oct 01 2022 GreensboroncUpdate: once again I am getting inundated with ads. Give us an option to play with no ads - I would gladly pay that, in fact I thought I had when I first started playing years ago. And the developers are still giving us the option of paying money to get gems and boosts, but wow has the price gone UP. If we spend $44 we get the privilege of 24 hours of unlimited play with boosts. $44? Are you kidding me? I used to spend money every week on this game. No more. Greed has clearly taken over. As a long time daily player and weekly spender I am so disappointed.
I love Clockmaker! It’s ridiculous how much I used to play - completely addicting. That said, I have reduced my rating from 5 stars to 2. Why? Simple. The unbelievable number of ads now. Every 2-3 turns you have to sit through an ad. I understand that the developers want to make money, but it is just terrible how many ads there are now, particularly featuring violent games. I actually spend money on this app, purchasing extra coins, etc., so I do not appreciate being made to watch ads. Make an ad-free version of this game. I would buy that, but I find myself playing less now. Also rewards have been reduced. Overall, what started out as a calm, but challenging game with beautiful graphics has devolved into a money pit. So disappointing.
Great Zen experience
Wed Apr 17 2019 rutahillThis app is fantastic if your seriously into Zen meditation. It has a lovely musical background, which I find soothing and I enjoy the lay out. That’s the only thing good about this game.
It’s very clear that the owners goal is to “try” to get rich. Everything in the game is designed to Force you to buy extra... to beat a level, or it can take months for someone to do so. And they are very stingy about their rewards and gifts for daily logins. Also, repeatedly, I beat a level, and it shows that I got five rubies, but they are never added to my collection of gems.
Truthfully, I am embarrassed by how much I like this game for practically no rewards for progress. I have purchased gems in the past, and they literally vanished. When I wrote them about it, I never got a response. I will never give them money again. Whoever writes their algorithms designed them so that you frequently get down to one or two gems left to clear, but you cannot, most of the time, get what you need. It’s greedy game owners - who don’t care if you aren’t wealthy enough to keep wasting your money. As a retired senior on a fixed income, who is currently fighting cancer my budget is tight.
I really like this game, but it’s coding and algorithms are clearly designed to make you spend money to progress with any expediency.
I’m ashamed to tell anyone how much I play this game and how greedy they are compared to other game apps.
