Crazy 8s is basically the poor man’s Uno, and this app is the poor man’s digital version of it. It’s fine. It works. But it’s incredibly loud—not in terms of volume, but in terms of design. It’s full of bright, clashing colors and cheesy sound effects that sound like they were pulled from a stock library. As an older gamer, I find the whole presentation a bit childish.

The AI is predictably frustrating, often making moves that seem designed to keep the game going rather than actually winning. The online multiplayer is hit or miss, mostly populated by people who quit the second they start losing. There’s no ranking system worth mentioning, and the 'customization' is just choosing between different colored squares. It’s a functional app for a five-minute distraction, but it has no staying power. Just buy a deck of cards.
