If you love the tactile feel of rolling real dice but hate the math and clutter of paper scorecards, Dicy is a fantastic companion. It’s not a standalone game—you need your own physical dice to play—but as a digital assistant, it’s incredibly polished. It supports both international Yahtzee and Scandinavian Yatzy rules, which is a nice touch for purists.

The app is clean and easy for kids to use, making family game night much smoother. The autosave feature is a lifesaver, ensuring that a phone call or a low battery doesn't wipe out your progress mid-game. While it lacks a 'triple-line' mode that some hardcore players might want, for a standard round of dice, it's one of the best scoring tools available on the App Store.

I'm rating this based on its utility as a companion tool, not as a game, because it simply isn't one. It’s a calculator with a nice coat of paint. For a serious tabletop player who hates wasting paper, it’s fine. The statistics tracking is a nice touch for those of us who like to analyze their bad luck over time.

But let’s be real: $4 or more for a scoresheet app is a bit rich when I can just use a spreadsheet or, heaven forbid, a piece of paper. The 'Dice Intelligence' feels a bit like cheating if you're playing with others, and the digital dice are never as satisfying as the real thing. It’s a polished app, but it’s the definition of a 'first world problem' solution. I don't see the value for the average person.
