You have to manipulate the environment—dropping anvils, cutting ropes, or triggering explosives—at just the right moment to ensure the 'grim reaper' succeeds in his task.

The humor is what carries the experience. The animations of the stickmen are hilariously exaggerated, and the 'solutions' to the puzzles are often absurdly convoluted.
