Deliver Till Dawn is a masterclass in atmospheric tension for mobile. You play as a courier in a city that seemingly transforms into a nightmare after dark. The 'puzzles' are mostly navigation-based, requiring you to manage your fuel, your light source, and your path to avoid whatever is lurking in the shadows.
The sound design is the standout feature; the creaks of the city and the distant sirens create a genuine sense of unease. It’s not a horror game in the jump-scare sense, but rather a constant, low-thrumming dread. The controls are simple, but the tactical decisions you have to make about which routes to take make every delivery feel like a high-stakes mission.
I actually liked the mood of Deliver Till Dawn. There’s something genuinely tense about driving through a pitch-black forest with only your headlights and the sound of things hitting your bumper. It reminds me of some of the older PC survival sims. The resource management—balancing fuel against repairs—adds a layer of tension that most mobile games lack. It’s a bit more 'hardcore' than your average App Store trash, and for that, I give it some credit.
However, the driving physics are subpar. The truck feels like it's sliding on butter half the time, and hitting a small rock shouldn't send you spinning like a top. The mission structure also gets old fast. It's always 'go here, drop this off, come back.' I wanted more variety in the environments or some actual narrative stakes. It’s a good foundation, but it feels like it’s in early access rather than being a finished product. It’s worth a look if you like the theme, but be prepared for some frustration.
