I’ll admit, the cat detective got me. Detective Mio is a high-quality hidden-object game, which is a genre I usually find pretty tedious. The art style is the big winner here; it’s got this soft, watercolor look that makes every scene a joy to look at. It’s not trying to be a hardcore investigation sim; it’s a 'cozy' game meant for relaxing. Finding the objects is rarely frustrating, and the hints are generous if you get stuck.
That said, it is just a hidden-object game. If you've played one, you've played them all. The 'detective' work is mostly just flavor text, and the core gameplay never really evolves. It’s very much a 'one-and-done' experience—once you've cleared the levels, there's no reason to go back. It’s a 66—perfectly fine for what it is, and I appreciate the lack of aggressive monetization, but it's not going to challenge your intellect. It’s more of a digital picture book you occasionally interact with.
