Overall Great Game
Thu Nov 16 2023 hsjdmahajanI’ve been waiting for this game ever since I saw an ad for it on Instagram for its pre-register. I was very excited for the game and it did not disappoint. I almost never write reviews but I will for this game because it truly does deserve a good word. It’s gameplay is smooth and art style is unique. I can tell a lot of work and time has been taken for this game which is also why it’s one of the only mobile games I’ve spent money on to show my support. One thing I wish for this game to have would be to be playable offline, it would really make the cherry on the cake for the game. Other then than that perhaps an improvement on the leveling system because the difficulty gap between some levels are big and in order to make up for that a lot of grinding of previous levels need to be done. One specific thing that I have in mind is for when is comes to purchasing Magic Runes in the shop, it’ll be cool if you are able to choose the spell you want it for. This could possibly help out for the big increase in difficulty for levels since as a player we’re deciding a plan of spells to specifically go for and leveling up. These are just suggestions that maybe taken into consideration, I’m not very knowledgeable in how to even improve gameplay. I’m just a casual player😂.
Anyways I can’t wait for what this game would have in store for us in the future. Thank you Development Team for this game and the quick responses to any bugs that I or other players have experienced.
Challenging and fun
Sun Dec 10 2023 ChudzleyI agree with other reviewers that as monsters are are getting close, the wizard is focused on a certain enemy. But as they reach the wall, the focus changes to other enemies. What this does is take precious time away and before you know it, the wall crumbles. I’m on stage 10 right now and it seems there is absolutely no way I will pass without more time or more powerful weapons. As I recall, in the earlier walls, like 1 -7, my first weapon would take out an enemy in 3 or 4 shots. Now on level 10, it is taking 9 shots to take an enemy out! I don’t agree with that. I think it would be fair to take out an enemy in 5 shots at the most. Otherwise the wall will come down. The reason I like this game is because it is challenging and not super easy. But it is becoming super hard as I pass each wall. I think the weapons, especially the basic weapon that shoots a “bullet” should be stronger and take out enemies quicker. It’s also difficult to understand the strategy of combining gems so when I have an opportunity to do a “quick combine” I just do that. I would be happy to give the game 5 stars if you could remove my frustration with a wall coming down so quickly. I don’t think it should take between 20 and 50 attempts to take a wall. Thank you for wonderful game.
Great game, needs functional improvements
Thu Dec 21 2023 Wenxuan ZhouFirst of all, the targeting is often an issue and there are issues such as enemies piling up in a corner, and no skills are targeting corners after the rampart is damaged beyond a certain point for some reason. For the upgrade menu, there are 3 sets of gems you can equip (3 equipment sets), but when you inlay a gem into one of them it gets used up and can’t be used for the other 2. This defeats the purpose of having multiple selections, as you’re forced to just moves gems around anyway. Instead, make each of the “outfits” separate, so each one has all the gems available. Lastly, there is an option to quick combine, but there seems to not be one to just combine. I’m forced to auto combine all my higher level gems to combine the lowest level gems. Also, there’s a yellow currency used to upgrade the rampart but it seems like there’s no way to use it. These are just the issues, but honestly this is a great game, great concept, and it just needs some tweaks. Edit: got the rampart upgrades. Given that there isn’t a wiki, I think some things (like rewards for challengers) should be explained with a hint at least once. Like “this will be used later when you are level x”. It’s fun to discover things, but not knowing a part of the fundamental mechanics is annoying.
Has potential to be great
Fri Jan 19 2024 ThanetisI think the game is good, I’ve seen styles similar to this but not as fulfilling as taking on so many hordes of monsters. Something I think could set you apart from other app games is if you did away with the stamina requirement for entering the main game. People who like your game are going to play it regularly and nothing ruins or reminds gamers that you’re just an app game than the loss of immersion because “you’re out of stamina, please wait while it comes back”
When I play games I like I don’t want to put them down to wait for a chance to keep playing, no one does. That’s not to say you can’t have “entry items” for events. And yes I know you can watch an ad for a little bit of stamina, but you have that feature in good places elsewhere.
Next I think you should have more mages, witches, or wizards with different abilities. Maybe have them start with one of the other spells like lightning/fire/ice instead of the arcane bolt. Since I’m going to be grinding away I enjoy getting some variety. Maybe you even let players customize the look of their avatar before the game begins. Just some thoughts on stepping your game up and away from similar games on the App Store
Better targeting, Difficulty scaling, Stamina
Sun Nov 26 2023 CurlOfAbyssI’m happy with the game so far. I’ve made it to stage 16 but keep failing due to the targeting system. If we had control, or options to attack the weakest, strongest, furthest, or closest mobs for individual spells it would tremendously improve the game overall. Mobs just eat away at the left, and right sides of the wall in huge clumps without getting attacked (very frustrating). The very low amount of stamina you receive is also saddening. I know there are free in game ways to obtain more but it isn’t enough. I would like to have a way to keep playing without spending money to buy more. To my understanding updates including more options with upgrades to spells, the wall, and your mage are coming already, so I’m happy about that. Overall good game imo these were just reoccurring problems and thoughts I had and would like to see changes to in the future :)
Good but can be better
Sat Dec 16 2023 nomikossirrenFun and challenging for sure. Does not make you overpowered like other games and suddenly you hit a pay wall which is nice but the main issue I have seen (and reading other reviews) is the targeting system of your attacks. As enemies approach closer your wizard attacks will prioritize enemies that are farther back which makes no sense. It makes no sense cause your completion of the level depends on the health of your wall that is left, so if you are left with 100% health you get the most rewards. For example I like the log that slows and push enemies back, in theory it should deploy on enemies that are close to the wall and then effect the enemies behind the closer enemies giving my attacks more time to kill them, allowing me to stay at full health. Yet my log will spawn on the side to an enemy that is mid map while I got 6 enemies that are at my wall. It’s very frustrating. As you progress the enemies just get strong so the targeting system just screws you over more. Not only that some attacks will target the same enemy resulting in overkill and a waste of attacks if you don’t have penetrating attacks. I think if they fix the targeting system the game will be overall better.
Great game but needs fine tuning
Mon Apr 15 2024 cdm0048I’ve been playing for about a month and a half now and I really really like this game. Quick missions, lots of unlocksble abilities, a charming art style, doesn’t feel too ad heavy (all of which are optional also which is nice). The only drawback I have right now is the higher level abilities rarely (if ever) pop. I’ve had the level 5 meteor ability for 3-4 weeks now, the one that sets the ground ablaze. I’ve gotten that ability to pop once ever. EVER. Even when I exclusively upgrade meteor it just does not show up as an option or even as a possibility when you get the defeated boss spin the wheel thing. It’s very frustrating and now I’m seeing this occur with other abilities (pulse laser and laser refractions). So all this time has been input to unlock these options but they never pop up which makes deeper levels especially difficult. If the spawn rate could be tweaked or if there’s some other road map for how to unlock these in game could be shown, please please please add this. I don’t want to stop playing but it’s getting old
Grindiest of Grinds
Tue Mar 05 2024 BarbercjI love a good defense game. And this one has a lot of things going for it. But has some MAJOR draw backs. The upgrades are cool, once you FINALLY ever get to them. I have put a lot of time into this game already and still most powers are only level 3 or 4. As others have pointed out it’s soooo slow to do anything. The rounds are slow, upgrading your character is slow because you get so little in the way of gold per round and upgrade pieces. They give loads of stamina but I’ll never use it. I could play this game all day and I’d still wouldn’t make a dent in my energy (currently over 600 stamina) because who has time to play this game for 8 hours to use enough energy. Even getting to the 60 stamina use daily challenge is a grind.
My recommendations would be to increase the speed of the battles, increase the amount of gold and experience earned per battle (18 per round just doesn’t cut it) and add color to the attacks at earlier stages. I get it’s “doodle” but it’s basically a black and white fight until your 600 hours in.
decent p2w game
Wed Apr 24 2024 lord_lucifirthe game gets harder not only from having stronger enemies but by unlocking more skill, which is supposed to make players stronger, forces players to spread skills thin and become weaker as they level up. not only that, the bottom of the screen is literally a dead zone. monsters are prioritized based on how close they are to base unless they are hitting the fortress then skills skip them. especially when monsters go to the left or right corner. you can have 5 skills unlocked and not one will hit them. over all, low effort money grabber
the ads are of the actual game which I appreciate. the game itself is fun tower defense. however it's too rough for the price point especially when everything has a price point. Usually $20 would be. good price to set you far enough to feel the game but in this case it's barely enough to get through 1 level. there are items we have but no place to use. challenge is locked till level 20 but trust me, you will be stuck probably after 2 levels if you are f2p.
Fun but complicated….
Wed Nov 29 2023 Jose559Having somewhat fun with the game, but lots needs to be fixed. How am I earning all these things I can’t use? Rune stone, refining stone, and tomb of inheritance??? They are pointless, and there’s not much explained about what to do with them. Even Reddit seems lost on a lot. They just sit there. If you ask me, they’re trying hard to make a game that only seems worth it when spending money. I’m not going to spend all this money upgrading things to level up. You can already tell you'll have to spend a lot to find out what those things do. It should take this long to find out when I’ve been playing everyday for an hour or 2. I’ve never spend money on a game, but I keep passing levels and I still don’t know what to do with those things I’m earning. Plus, the upgrades while playing the game are too random, and they can make or break a round. I can do really good on a level one round, and completely bomb on the next. It’s not consistent enough. They need to put more thought process I to the game.
