More in depth than I though
Sat Feb 24 2024 NoMurlocsI thought this was just gonna be a simple turn based rogue-like, but I was sorely mistaken. One look the achievements you can get will leave you wondering how you get to certain places to complete said achievements. You can either figure it out on your own or look online for some of them because I still haven’t figured out a few of the paths you can take. I love just how much content there is in this game and how you will eventually find your flow and be able to pick what talents/ weapons you want just by their icon. There’s so many secrets things to explore and I love it.
I’ve seen other people mentioning bugs like your runs disappearing if you don’t play them to completion, but I’ve never run into this problem. After each fight room or whenever you get a break you can hit the settings icon in the bottom right to save and exit the run. As long as you do that you should be good.
Another “bug” people have mention is that you have to wait for an enemy death animation to end so you can attack again. Otherwise you will waste an attack swinging into the air, and while it can be annoying, it’s really easy to get used to.
Overall, it’s a fun and great game that offers quite a bit of replay ability due to all of its talent combos, plethora of weapons and equipment, and several different runs to find.
Great game, but a few flaws.
Tue Apr 16 2024 Asher DeAngelisThere are many other positive reviews singing the same praises that I have for this game so I’ll get straight to the point. There are some flaws that mainly have to do with the meta progression of the game, the talents you unlock have the ability to be toggled on or off, however they appear in all my runs once I unlock them no matter what, which would be a fair thing to happen if the ability to toggle them wasn’t an option. And then there is the “bigger vials” upgrade in town that increases potion duration, I have gotten that to level three and the duration of all potions has remained the same, three turns. Finally there’s the tutorial for the game, or lackthereof. At the beginning of every run the game simply tells you what is the attack button, which is one of the only things that is actually obvious about the UI. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING else goes unexplained. In fact there is an entire in game mechanic where you can get bonus resources by looking at the background for barely-visible spots that you must tap on. I only found out about this very useful thing after maybe thirty or more half an hour long runs of the game. All of this and more minor issues are all very infuriating. I do realize of course this is yet to be a 1.0 release so please developers, if you see this review, make these fixes for both current and future players enjoyment.
best roguelike
Fri Jun 21 2024 bad_user_namewhen i saw that this game had updated i couldn’t believe it. this is by far one of my favorite games, and the fact that there isnt much handholding in the beginning only peaks my interest even more. i love learning how to play these kinds of games, it only feels MORE fulfilling when you survive till the end when earlier you only barely found out how to upgrade perks. i will say this though: i have found that some classes are simply too overpowered when pitted against the others. take the priest and necromancer classes for example. their insane attack power and survivability levels are way too high when compared to the ranger or warlord classes. they both have high level healing abilities you can cast on a whim, and the barrage spell of the necromancer and the smite spell of the priest are simply amazing. ive found myself taking one or two healing spells with me no matter what class i am, because healing for 300% weapon damage on a warrior class is the most op thing in this game. while there may be other spells and perks that give automatic healing, any mage type will always feel like the best class if you ask me.
Great fun, needs polishing
Tue Sep 26 2023 Bird1093Sometimes the game fumbles with the run continue feature (it occasionally deletes your run if you don’t finish it in one sitting), but overall is a very fun roguelike that is simple to enjoy, intuitive enough to figure out (most of the time) and has a lot more complexity than it lets on, primarily because it won’t tell you much. You will have to figure most things out on your own, which is part of the fun. Though, do keep in mind that holy shrines don’t cleanse *item* curses (which should have been better explained in-game). You have to do something else, but I won’t spoil it.
The game seems to still be improving, so I’d recommend at least installing now, and maybe if you aren’t satisfied with it now, check back in later.
Fun for a long time
Thu Jul 17 2025 WyndralIt’s addicting with very few ads (one ad between each stage). There’s a subtle story to it but if you love the collecting and advancing part of roguelikes then this shouldn’t be a problem. I love the different pieces you unlock the more you play, but it’s hard to figure out what does what at the start without searching it up. And even on the game’s wiki there is very little information or even pictures of what things are.
I’d love to see more achievements added or more stages that you can get thru different armor combos. Maybe implement a way where the combo of gems you use affects something else in the game, bc the strength gem seems very overpowered. Unless you’re doing a berserker build and risk your health, there isn’t much to do with most of the diamond shaped gems. Some gems are definitely favored over others. Would be nice to see some balance or achievements that’d cover inconvenient gem selections.
It’s sweaty. Give it a chance.
Fri Dec 05 2025 FixItDevsEdit, there’s a weird bug where I’ll randomly get level cleared rewards mid fight or randomly during my turn everything dies and the run ends. It’s super random, I can be reading a new skill after a fight, then boom, dead. Really fun game, layout, progression, etc. Great to get stoned and play or lay in bed. MY ONLY complaint is the RNG for “extra” and “missed turns” it seems as tho the enemies get 2-5 extra turns and when I get my turn I get 2-5 missed turns. Making a good run have no meaning when you just watch yourself not get a turn for 5 turns and see your health go from 500 to zero. It takes away skill and strategy and adds more luck to the game.
So much potential..
Wed Sep 04 2024 neurdleThis game is very very good, and it's perfect to kill time or even just to play while you're doing something. However, it can be infuriating when you have the perfect game, it's finally gotten fun, and the game freezes, and then crashes, resetting your run progress and disallowing you to continue. This happens often, and at very inopportune times. This wouldn't be a problem if it was every 10 runs, or even every 5, however it nearly happens every other run on mine and other peoples phones. This combined with the fact that there is absolutely no autosave, or any functional autosave, makes a fragile and paranoia filled experience that is fun, but unintentionally very short lasting and in the end enraging when all your progress is deleted when the game just says "Oops! We lost it, sorry!".
Randomness/grind is too much
Wed Oct 18 2023 ThemagicjesusEnjoyed the game for a few weeks but ultimately left disappointed. The resource cost for unlocking most things are too high so you won’t unlock anywhere near everything at a decent rate. I got maybe 1/10th of everything after a month maybe.
Randomness is so ridiculous that you will regularly get one shot by later bosses for no rhyme or reason or explanation even with fantastic builds. Just “boss did 659 damage” for no reason in the log when it had been doing like 80 per hit for the last five rounds. I just lost my best run ever to this nonsense and I’m just done. Maybe if I had an explanation for why the boss suddenly nuked me but I never do so it’s just like the game went “oh you’re doing too well so we’re gonna one shot you”
