Dungeon Cards: Roguelike in IOS

Dungeon Cards is an ingenious blend of a roguelike and a 3x3 grid puzzle. It takes the complexity of a dungeon crawler and distills it into a format that is perfect for vertical mobile play. Your character is a card on a grid, and every movement you make interacts with the cards around you—monsters, health potions, or gold. This creates a fascinating 'dance' where every step must be calculated to survive.

There are numerous character classes to unlock, and each one changes the strategy significantly. The 'Paladin' might focus on shields, while the 'Mage' attacks from a distance. The game is highly addictive because of its 'short-term' goals and immediate feedback. It’s easy to pick up but incredibly difficult to master, especially once the board starts filling up with elite enemies. It’s a brilliant example of minimalist design done right.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. I have a soft spot for games that don't waste my time. Dungeon Cards is pure, unadulterated strategy. No fluff, no 20-minute tutorials. You move your card, you kill a goblin, you pick up a potion. But every move matters. One wrong step and the whole grid collapses on you.

It reminds me of 'Look, Your Loot!' but with more character variety. The pixel art is clean and functional, exactly what you need for this type of game. It’s hard—very hard—and that’s how I like it. My only gripe is that once you’ve mastered a specific class, the runs can start to feel similar. But for a free game with minimal ads, it’s one of the best 'wait at the dentist' games I've found in years.
