Enigmo is a certified classic that feels like a masterclass in early mobile game design. As an expert gamer, I appreciate how it captures the 'tinker-until-it-works' satisfaction of games like The Incredible Machine, but translates it perfectly to a 3D touch environment. The physics engine is remarkably consistent—which is crucial for a game where a single degree of rotation on a bumper can be the difference between a gold medal and total failure.

The progression is fantastic, moving from simple gravity puzzles to complex setups involving splitters, sponges, and lasers. While the visuals definitely lean into that early-2000s pre-rendered aesthetic, the charm is undeniable. It’s the kind of game that rewards lateral thinking over quick reflexes, making it an essential experience for anyone who values logic and spatial reasoning. It’s a shame it’s officially 'retired,' as its core loop remains more engaging than 90% of the physics puzzles on the store today.

Enigmo takes me back to the early days of the iPhone. It was revolutionary then, and it’s still 'fine' now. The core loop of placing a bumper and watching a droplet bounce is satisfying in a basic way. However, the 3D graphics haven't aged gracefully—they look like early PS1 tech. The difficulty curve is also all over the place; you'll breeze through five levels and then hit a brick wall that makes you want to throw your phone. It’s a classic, but the world has moved on to more elegant physics puzzles like Portal or The Witness.

Enigmo is a 3D puzzle game where you direct animated streams of flowing liquid so that the droplets get to their destination. Water, Oil, and Lava fall from Droppers and bounce around the walls of the puzzle. You move and rotate various types of bumpers, sliders, accelerators, and sponges in order to divert the flow of the falling droplets. The faster you complete each of the 50 levels, the more bonus points you receive.
The physics in Enigmo are truly amazing to watch! This is one of the most unique puzzle games ever created.
In addition to the 50 levels that come with the game, you can also download many more levels for free! As of version 1.1, you can download levels created by other users or by yourself with the Mac or PC version of Enigmo which has a built-in level editor. You may submit your levels to us and we'll include them in the public list if we like them enough.

Mastering the Toolbox

Each level provides specific tools. Drag bumpers to bounce fluid, slides to guide it, and accelerators to give it a speed boost. Remember that you can rotate items 360 degrees to fine-tune the trajectory of the droplets.

While water is standard, lava moves slower and interacts differently with certain obstacles. Light beams require mirrors instead of bumpers. Always identify the fluid source first before laying out your path.
