Best Game
Fri May 09 2025 krivera94This is by far my favorite unpacking game on the Apple App Store to date! Super adorable graphics, and hints are easy to come by! I love that you can purchase ad-free version but it’s not necessary as the ads are not intrusive like other games.
The game itself is a little simple, just the main levels and not much else. There is an avatar icon in the top left corner of the game which leads me to believe that soon we will be able to customize other things and I look forward to what else the developers have in store for this sweet little game! While I do love the idea of having a customizable room like others have suggested, I would be more than satisfied with more levels and nothing else.
So far, the rooms have been original, and just challenging enough to keep my brain busy. The artwork is also beautiful and looks exactly as the screenshots show. Overall very satisfied!
Fantastic but not calming anymore…
Sun Aug 03 2025 Nikki2495I loved this game so much I even paid to remove ads and played daily. But after level 70, it’s gone from relaxing to frustrating. The levels are packed with too many pieces, tight timers, and impossible challenges—even with streak bonuses. I haven’t been able to complete a level without using freezes or hints since level 50. It’s become ad-heavy and stressful. Please consider a timer-free mode for higher levels—I enjoy the complexity but not the pressure.
EDIT: I waited almost 5 weeks for new levels after 84 and all I got were recycled levels from earlier levels or just straight up rip offs from dream room their partner app. Don’t make me wait weeks just to replay levels I’ve been playing. I tried to cut the app a break and think maybe only a few were like this but no. I’m on level 111 and if I think I have done the sushi restaurant with the pond 4 times already between the 2 apps. Don’t make separate apps if it’s the same content and don’t make us wait for recycled content.
Very good but flawed
Wed Sep 24 2025 louise237I would really appreciate if the developers take this review seriously. I have been a paid user of this game for some time and I do enjoy it greatly. However I am increasingly discouraged from playing because the placement of objects is not always picked up as the correct spot, even if it is less than a millimeter from where it’s supposed to be - and sometimes when you even put it in the correct spot but for whatever reason, the game doesn’t perceive it as properly placed. This is happening repeatedly and it makes the game impossible to play without selecting the booster to automatically place the item. Please address this. The game sh out of be more sensitive than this, so that if you are in approximately the correct area with your placement, the object goes into its place. Other games are not this finicky and don’t lack this level of sensitivity to the space you move an object to. Please fix this. Otherwise this would be my favorite game like this and I would be a patron for life.
Game is fun but annoying at times
Fri Jun 13 2025 sub0tsuThe game is fun, simple (usually); cute, charming, and creative level designs with much detail. However, my problem is this: placing items is sometimes VERY tedious, and it will end up costing me the whole level (or minutes wasted on ads to continue). I.e: sometimes it’s very hard to tell what exactly an unplaced item is, and that makes it hard to even get an idea of where it may go. On top of that, at times the placement is very finicky and will not register as being in the correct spot if you are so much as a few pixels off of its actual placement, which personally has lead me to believing it doesn’t belong in said spot at all, when in actuality it was just slightly off. I know, what’s a game without a challenge? But this game feels challenging sometimes for every wrong reason. And, granted, there are hints and such that you can buy with your earned coins/get from watching ads/earn from leveling, that do help greatly, though you end up spending your coins very fast this way.
Love the game, but too much ads
Sun Aug 10 2025 Taylorswiftfan_1please make sure that there are not a lot of ads. I love playing this game. It’s so satisfying. And super fun to play whenever I get bored and I don’t have anything to do. I will end up playing this game. I love it but like I said there is a lot of ads and it’s really annoying. I love the game just too much ads. Please just make sure there are less ads except for like I get like the like timing freeze the time and all that but like the rest of that there really isn’t anything else for you to be putting a whole bunch of ads. I love the game. It’s just like I said a lot of ads. Please remove a lot of them and make sure that none of them are inappropriate
Great rooms: stressful timers
Sun Jun 15 2025 EesopheeI’ve sunk way more hours into Fanstary Room than I expected, and I’m torn. On one hand, it’s flat-out adorable, the miniature furniture, layered lighting, and tiny décor details make every level feel like building a real-life dollhouse. The color palettes are chef’s-kiss gorgeous, and when I’m just looking around, the game is genuinely relaxing.
However I have a lot of issues with this game;
• Aggressive time limits. Instead of cozy decorating, I’m speed-tapping like I’m defusing a bomb.
• Pay-or-wait pressure. Ads pop up constantly, and nearly every “need a few more seconds?” prompt feels designed to push you toward micro-transactions for extra time or hints.
• Pixel-perfect placement. Sometimes Items have to be exactly where the dev wants them, if it’s a little off it won’t register, so you spend hints just to confirm it was right where you placed it the first time. Frustrating.
• Difficulty spike. Early stages are soothing; later levels feel almost impossible without paid boosts. That flips the whole “relaxing puzzle” promise on its head.
I want to love this game. The craftsmanship is obvious and the concept is fantastic. If the devs dialed back the timer pressure, toned down the ad bombardment, and gave placements a little wiggle room, Fanstary Room could be a five-star favorite. As it stands, it’s a gorgeous experience trapped inside a stressbox.
No Longer Fun
Fri Jul 25 2025 AgequayHi guys! I never write reviews but this game deserves one. I really enjoyed this game. I thought it was the perfect mixture of challenging and relaxing, until I reached the higher levels. I’m currently on level 126 and I don’t remember when it started but each level takes 30+ minutes to complete. I paid to not have ads but once you get higher up, the game becomes more meticulous causing you to have to constantly watch ads just to get through it. It’s so frustrating and no longer fun! I even tried getting close to completion on a couple levels and then restarted it to see if, even if I knew where everything was, would I have enough time to complete it and the answer was no! There needs to be a time increase or the game needs to not be so picky as to where you drag an object. Like I said it’s no longer fun and it takes SO LONG to complete one level. Paying to not have ads was a waste of money…
Fun
Sun Aug 10 2025 FairyCrowI enjoy this game, my favorites are the VIP rooms. I find the art style to be very cute and relaxing. I also love that items are black and white so you know the required furniture is missing. I don’t think I have seen this before. My three biggest issues with the game.
1. No game back up. I don’t spend a lot of time and spend no money on games without back up. I have learned the hard way not to do that.
2. Levels that have more than one room should have more time. The amount of items and rooms increases disproportionately to the time.
3. Some of the levels are harder because outside of certain Asian cultures what the room is, isn’t clear. It takes more time because it is less intuitive if you’re not familiar with it. I think this would be less of a problem if you didn’t have to use hearts.
Could be fun
Sun Sep 21 2025 QazsefbhukI have enjoyed playing this game. It is a little cartoonish and silly as far as graphics but it is still cute. However it has become so picky about the placement of items that it is almost impossible to complete levels. I have become stuck on a level that I basically know where every single piece goes because I have been through it so many times getting different pieces placed each time. However if you are 1mm off it won’t click into place. I even used a hint which shows an outline of the location of the item and it took about 7 or 8 times of me very slowly lining it up in a way that I thought was perfect before it finally clicked. If a person has to be that intricate it is difficult to place everything in 2-3 minutes. I has become very aggravating.
Ad-Heavy to win
Sun Jul 20 2025 BrittaBug13I thought I was really going to like this game, and for the most part I did; yet after a few levels in order to win you have to use all your specials and watch a bunch of ads. The timers are too tight; there are WAY too many objects on some levels; and a lot of it isn’t intuitive as the earlier levels were. It would be great if the levels were like the vip where the times go up. Then you could play a level to beat it and get a better lower score for rewards or something. I love the idea of this game, but I can’t give it any higher of a rating because of how ridiculous the ads get. I pause and there is an ad. I take a call there is an ad. I accidentally lock my phone and when I come back there is an ad. And it’s not even ONE ad; more often than not there are two or three and I feel like I’m digging my way back to the game. I’m really disappointed.
