Fridge Horror Game is a quirky and surprisingly creepy indie title that plays with the 'weird fiction' genre. You aren't fighting monsters with guns; you're dealing with the unsettling and supernatural occurrences surrounding a mysterious refrigerator. It leans heavily into atmosphere and jump scares, making it a great pick for a quick late-night play session in the dark.

The game's strengths lie in its sound design and the way it builds tension in a confined space. It feels like a 'short story' in game form. It’s not a deep RPG or a long adventure, but as a experimental horror experience, it works. Some of the puzzles are a bit obtuse, and the graphics are intentionally low-fi, which adds to the grimy, uncomfortable vibe. If you like 'liminal space' horror or 'creepypasta' style games, this fridge is worth opening.

Dinsun Review

I actually appreciate the lo-fi aesthetic here. It reminds me of the horror games I played in the late 90s—grainy, dark, and uncomfortable. However, the 'horror' is too reliant on jump scares and the plot is so cryptic it borders on nonsensical.

The central gimmick—the fridge—is clever for the first ten minutes, but the loop becomes repetitive. It manages to create a sense of dread, which is more than I can say for most mobile horror, but it doesn't have the legs for a full experience. It’s an interesting experiment, just not a particularly great game.
