Galaxia brings that 1980s arcade nostalgia directly to your wrist. It is a clear homage to classics like Galaga, and it works surprisingly well on the Apple Watch's Digital Crown. Turning the crown to move your ship feels more precise than touch controls ever could on such a small screen, giving you that 'just one more go' feeling as you weave through enemy fire.

While the enemy variety is somewhat limited compared to its console counterparts, the vibrant colors and smooth frame rate make it a technical marvel for a watch game. Look, I grew up in the arcades, so I have a soft spot for anything that smells like 1981. Galaxia tries to bring that 'one more quarter' vibe to your wrist. Using the Digital Crown to shimmy your ship back and forth feels surprisingly decent, and for a few minutes, you might actually enjoy the novelty. It’s got the basic loops down: shoot the bugs, don't get hit, move to the next wave.

But let's be realistic—this is a watch. Your arm is going to get tired long before you set a meaningful high score. The screen is too small for any real strategic movement, and the depth is nonexistent. It’s a technical curiosity more than a game. If you're stuck in a meeting and want to kill sixty seconds, fine. Otherwise, it’s just a reminder that some things belong on a cabinet, not a timepiece.
