Game of Vikings puts you in the fur-lined boots of a Jarl, tasking you with building a settlement and raiding your way to glory. It’s a compelling blend of city-builder and tactical battler. The management aspect is deep—you have to balance your food production, wood for ships, and training for your warriors.
The raiding mechanic is where the action happens. You send your longships to distant shores to gather loot and renown. The visual style is gritty but colorful, capturing the Norse aesthetic perfectly. While it follows some familiar mobile strategy tropes, the Viking theme is well-integrated, and the clan system encourages players to work together to conquer larger territories. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to build their own Valhalla.
Dinsun here. I’m tired of seeing these 'Game of [Insert Theme]' titles. Underneath the Viking aesthetic, this is the same city-builder we’ve been playing for a decade. You click a building, wait a timer, click another building, wait a longer timer. The 'tactical' combat is largely automated, leaving very little for the player to actually do besides manage spreadsheets and collect login rewards.
The art style is the only saving grace, with some decent character designs, but it’s not enough to mask the predatory monetization. If you want to be competitive, you have to pay. If you don't pay, you’re just fodder for the whales. For a game about warriors and glory, there’s very little honor in the way it’s designed to drain your wallet. I’d rather play a real strategy game on my PC.
