Gel Nails is a fantastic 'digital spa' experience. The attention to detail in the nail art tools—from the way the polish applies to the variety of stencils and charms—is quite impressive. It’s a very creative game that allows for a lot of personal expression without the mess of real-world nail art.

The progression is satisfying, as you unlock more high-end clients and more elaborate tools. It does suffer from the usual hyper-casual pitfalls of frequent ads, but the actual 'work' of designing the nails is so relaxing that it’s worth the interruptions. It’s perfect for anyone who loves fashion and design but wants a low-pressure gaming experience.

Dinsun here. I’m not exactly the target audience for a nail salon game, but a good sim is a good sim. This is not a good sim. It is a technical disaster. Ads fail to load, causing the game to freeze, and the physics for applying polish are floaty and imprecise.

Like many other 'DIY' games in this category, it’s just a skin for a marketing machine. You’re forced into five-star reviews to keep features unlocked, and the 'VIP' customers are just another way to get you to watch a 30-second ad. There’s zero challenge and very little actual fun. It’s a waste of storage space.
