Unlike many arcade-style airport games, this title focuses on the technical nuances of ground maneuvering and tower operations. Managing pushbacks, taxi clearances, and runway timing across real-world locations like Heathrow and JFK feels rewarding, especially when you successfully navigate a peak-hour rush without any delays or emergencies.

The game offers two distinct ways to play: a simplified mode for beginners and a 'Real Size' mode for veterans. The latter is where the game truly shines, requiring genuine spatial awareness and planning. The graphics are clean and functional, providing the necessary data for a controller without overwhelming the screen. While there's a learning curve regarding wake turbulence and departure slots, the satisfaction of a perfectly orchestrated airport is unmatched in the mobile simulation space.

Hello Tower is okay for what it is. It’s an idle builder that doesn't try to be anything more. The pixel art is charming enough, and the progression is steady. I appreciate that it doesn't bombard you with quite as many ads as its competitors.

But as someone who’s played the greats of the management and defense genres, I find it incredibly thin. Once you've built the first few floors, you’ve seen the whole game. The 'defense' part is largely automated and requires very little tactical input. It’s more of a 'spreadsheet with art' than a strategy game. It’s fine for a 15-minute commute, but it won't satisfy a craving for deep gameplay. It’s competent, but forgettable.
