Engaging and Impossible to Ignore
Fri Oct 05 2018 reddutchman1I got this game on a whim, and I absolutely loathe math. Hexologic, though, made my free time disappear and my brain work to solve satisfying puzzles about balance. Every move matters and the little tricks you pick up make the difference in later levels. The wait for more levels is only excruciating because I’m anxious to keep playing. The new hard mode seemed like it was a gimmick, but there’s a deeper level of satisfaction of solving the puzzles without the helpful assist- I even made sure to do the tutorial on hard so I could claim my whole screen as red. 5/5, please play this game and beg for more levels
Fun & Polished, But Too Short
Sat Sep 29 2018 cybergoogleEDIT: New Levels
It looks like the developer has added more levels! I still think the game could use at least one, probably two more content updates of this size, but the new levels introduce fun mechanics and I’m really glad to see that the developer listened to feedback and added more content. I think I’ll hold off on bumping my review up from four stars to five until the next content update (assuming there will be another). I’m far more likely to recommend this game now that it has more content. It’s pretty fun!
I bought this game expecting it to last me a couple of weeks, but I beat it in a single night (including the “hidden levels”). The time I played it, I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately there wasn’t much to play. The art is pretty and the concept is inventive, and I appreciated how polished the app was, but it desperately needs more levels added. The developer seems to respond to any review complaining about the lack of content by talking about the 15 hidden levels, which seems pretty tone deaf to me. This response concerns me because it makes me wonder if the developer ever plans to add more levels at all. I would tentatively recommend purchasing this app to people who are prepared for it to end quickly or if the developer does indeed plan to add more levels. What content the app does have is polished and awesome.
Great logic puzzler
Tue Jun 05 2018 ScottishBakeryIf you enjoy logic puzzles like I do, this is absolutely worth it. It teaches you how to play effortlessly and then challenges you to look closely. If you take your time in each level you can work out a path to completion without any frustration. Eventually you have to do some guessing which is all part of the fun as you discover your hunch was correct. There are 60 levels and I blew through them in a couple of days, but I loved every second and for a dollar I consider that fair. Definitely interested in more content!
GREAT game, but too short :(
Mon Aug 31 2020 Mags_MckayI absolutely loved this game and paid the couple bucks to remove the ads right away. The ONLY reason I’m not giving this game 5 stars is because it’s WAY too short!! There were 90 levels and I think 15 bonus levels... they get more difficult as you move along which I liked because this was challenging. Unfortunately it ended right after level 90!!! I would love to see a lot more levels added... this game could easily have more than 300 levels. I was finished the game In only a few days and was hoping it would keep me busy for a bit longer than that! Otherwise, I loved it!
Excellent! Need more levels!
Sat Jul 14 2018 SlvrhrnThese puzzles were so much fun. I was a little hesitant because, you know, math. But it’s more logic-with-numbers than math. The puzzles are just challenging enough without being impossible. The music and art is beautiful! The only disappointing thing is that there aren’t more levels! I finished the whole game, including hidden levels, in a couple days. Can’t wait for more levels!! Would also like to see a way to mark cells (e.g. this cell can’t be 3, this row needs 1 more)
Compelling puzzle game
Sat Dec 08 2018 QuietMisdreavusI love the core idea here. Seeing how each puzzle gently prods you toward its solution is a delight once you start putting everything together. For an added challenge, try to find the “secret” bonus puzzles, and once you have everything down pat, turn off the in-game hints for the ultimate challenge. The only complaint i have is that there were fewer puzzles than i’d hoped for. However, the ones that made the cut are very high quality, so i’m not too sad.
Beautiful game that needs bug fixes
Tue Dec 05 2023 PsycheTempestFun and engaging. Rather short for the price since I played through everything within a few hours. But I’m currently very frustrated to find the finally set of bonus levels won’t unlock. Beat all 90 levels and all 18 of the standard bonus levels, then realized there was another lock (the Secret Sky levels, I believe). Beat all 90 levels and all 18 bonus levels on hard mode. The last lock is still locked. Big glitch #2: none of the achievements work. I currently have 0 achievements and each one says 0% of users have achieved them.
Love it, but...
Sat Oct 13 2018 KT4BAMAI love everything about this game!it is beautiful, the concept is terrific, the change in difficulty is just right. BUT, like most of the other people on here I have to agree, it was over before I knew it and I was so disappointed to find myself at the end within only a couple of days. Please add more levels, I want to keep playing!
Nice number/logic game, but needs an “Undo” button
Mon Nov 05 2018 mjwachI really enjoy sudoku and kenken-type puzzles, and this game is a nice modification of those. My only complaint is the lack of an “undo” button. As you move through the levels, the puzzles become larger and more complicated. Because it’s a logic puzzle, you often want to try a move to see what happens, but if you don’t like the result, you are forced to restart the level. If there was an undo button, you could take back your last move and try another experiment.
Great but...
Fri Jul 13 2018 kkmylaThis game is a great take on the sudoku style and I had a lot of fun with laying it, however it seriously lacks in mass. I went through all levels in a matter of hours. This was disappointing considering it’s not often that I bring myself to pay for an AppStore game, it wasn’t really worth the $. Yes, quality over quantity is my life motto, but there still needs to be substance if you’re going to charge people. Just wishing for more levels in the future.
