Human Resource Machine is the best introduction to logic and programming I've ever seen. It manages to make the dry subject of Assembly language feel like a fun, dark corporate satire. The puzzles start simple—move a box from A to B—but quickly turn into complex algorithmic challenges.
The visual style from the Tomorrow Corporation team is as charming and weird as ever. It's incredibly satisfying to finally get a program to run and see your little office worker zip around. It doesn't just teach you how to code; it teaches you how to think, and that’s far more valuable.
Version 1.0.9Tue Dec 11 2018

Human Resource Machine is a puzzle game for nerds. In each level, your boss gives you a job. Automate it by programming your little office worker. If you succeed, you'll be promoted up to the next level for another year of work in the vast office building. Congratulations!
Don't worry if you've never programmed before - programming is just puzzle solving. If you strip away all the 1's and 0's and scary squiggly brackets, programming is simple, logical, beautiful, and something that anyone can understand and have fun with! Are you already an expert? There will be extra challenges for you.

Human Resource Machine is a puzzle game that uses the core concepts of computer programming to solve increasingly difficult tasks. Each level represents a year of employment in a giant office building, where you must use a simple set of commands to move numbered boxes from an 'Inbox' to an 'Outbox'. As the years pass, the tasks become more complex, requiring loops, conditional logic, and memory management. Created by the designers of World of Goo and Little Inferno, it’s a brilliant, humorous, and challenging dive into the world of logic.
You start with two commands: copyfrom and copyto. As you progress, you'll get commands like add and sub for math, and jump commands for creating loops. Success depends on arranging these tiles in the correct order to process the incoming stream of data.
Finally, embedded AI focuses on algorithms that are invisible to the user; that is, they operate "behind the scenes" and do not have a...

Simply completing a level is just the beginning. Each stage has 'optimization challenges' for the fewest number of commands used and the fewest steps executed. Mastering these requires a deep understanding of efficient algorithm design.
No prior coding experience is needed! The game starts with the basics and teaches you everything you need through visual puzzles.
