Invading Horde TD is a solid, albeit traditional, tower defense title. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it executes the fundamentals very well. The variety of towers—ranging from basic archers to magical pylons—is well-balanced, and the 'horde' mechanic truly lives up to its name. In later waves, the screen is absolutely packed with enemies, forcing you to think carefully about splash damage and slow-effects.

The progression system is fair, allowing you to upgrade your towers permanently between stages. While the art style is a bit generic 'fantasy,' the clarity of the units is good, which is crucial for a TD game when things get chaotic. It’s a great title for TD purists who want a challenge without too many complicated auxiliary systems distracting from the core strategy of placement and timing.

We’ve been playing this same game for twenty years. Invading Horde TD does absolutely nothing to innovate. You place a tower that shoots arrows, a tower that shoots fire, and a tower that slows enemies. If you’ve played 'Fieldrunners' or 'Kingdom Rush,' you’ve already played a better version of this. The balance is off; some towers are useless while others are mandatory, which eliminates any real strategic choice.

The art style tries to be 'retro' but just comes across as unpolished and muddy. It’s the kind of game that exists simply to occupy space on the App Store and generate ad revenue. There’s no passion here, just a checklist of mechanics. I’ve seen better TD games as browser-based Flash projects in 2008. Unless you are truly desperate for a new tower to place, stay away.

Choke Point Placement
