The ASMR trend has finally come for the steakhouse, and the result is... fine, I guess. The sounds are actually quite good—the sizzle of the fat and the clink of the knife are satisfying. But once you get past the audio, there's nothing there. It’s a very basic 'click the item, wait for the timer' cooking game that we’ve seen a million times since the Flash era.
The 'tycoon' elements are laughable; you just buy a slightly better grill so the steak cooks two seconds faster. It lacks any of the frantic energy or strategic depth of something like Overcooked or even Diner Dash. It’s a game meant to be looked at and listened to, not played. For a 40-year-old gamer like me, I’d rather just go outside and grill a real steak. This is a poor substitute for both cooking and gaming.
