Amazing Game, 1 question
Thu Jun 20 2024 prehistoric dudeI’ve had a great time playing the game. From the moment I picked it up I’ve been hooked. First of all amazing customization with so much variety. Secondly fun graphics, reminds me of older games. Lastly I have no idea why people are complaining so much about the mechanics now yes it might be a little bit luck based but not to the extremes that people are saying you just have to take a little bit of time to study the bounce mechanic and then master it. In the future though it would be nice if it was more skill based. Ok now the question, what exactly does it mean when you go up against a ruler and where their helmet should be it just says royalty. Does it mean I can’t hit it or is it one shot, or is it something else entirely? Overall great game, for anybody who’s come to complain please be nice to the developers while it might have some problems remember it’s a brand new game, that also has great potential.
Pretty Good, One Burning Question
Mon Nov 04 2024 T045STI really enjoy this game, so much so, that I bought the $3 full game. This game is very challenging, but rewarding. I love how the armor changes the color of the helmet, and that you can use any shield, armor, or helmet as cosmetics, but I am very confused on how advantage works. It says in the tips of the pause menu that the player will always do damage before the ai, but I have repeatedly lost a joust that I should have won, with the enemy even falling from their horse, yet I still am the loser. For additions, I personally think its just a bit too hard to hit royalty, as they only have two hit boxes, and they are fought without slow mode. I think if they were extended to have three hit boxes, or even just making the hit boxes slightly bigger, would suffice, and it could be justified as royalty of the time tended to be on the larger side, as it showed they were wealthy. Also, I would love if there were more options than just tournaments after reclaiming your land. I would love to eventually see a map of land you control, and you can fight battles with your troops, with you being on horseback. I think 1v1 duels against rivals would also be a cool addition, to grow that rivalry and hatred.
Overall, this is a very good and fun game, with much replayability.
Game based solely on luck NOT skill
Tue Aug 27 2024 Richard RichardsonThink you're good at the game since you're defeating opponents left and right? Think again. With ZERO ways to grind to get better skill or gear, you have to constantly throw yourself at the same tournament over and over again until you magically win. Doesn't matter if you strike first and have full health in everything. You could get knocked off your horse with the first tilt. If I could go back to other tournaments and actually grind to increase my health, gear, and skills THEN I'd actually have a chance to win. When all your opponents have dead-on accuracy and better gear than you, it's all based on luck on where your opponent hits you and if it will be a blow that unseats you or not. I'm forever stuck at Stuttgart as I deleted the game since why continue to throw myself against enemies when I have no way to actually get better to defeat them and just HOPE I don't get unseated in the first couple of rounds? Either make it an RPG or give us some way to actually get better skill and gear without continuously throwing ourselves at the same tournament, otherwise this is a fun game. It's just held back by no other mechanics beyond jousting over and over again. The gear is cosmetic or doesn't seem to offer any difference.
Immensely Enjoyable
Fri Nov 29 2024 Ligertamer9I’ve happily put my time into the game and find the repetitive tournaments to be enjoyable in that they require the engagement of my attention to succeed. I continue to enjoy playing and progressing the story.
The graphics are enjoyable and nostalgic and the music is pleasant. The backgrounds are nicely done and the movements are clean.
The ads are not intrusive. They only appear when new missions are available. The number one way to lose my interest — and that of other players — is an over abundance of ads.
A few suggestions to the developer, if they should read the review:
Clarifying what a tipped spear means — I didn’t know until happening to read a developer response to another review. Perhaps I overlooked it, but a reference would be nice.
Previews of the armor, helmets, and shields you can go back to purchase. It would allow players to decide if they’d like one versus another.
Changing your customized character during the campaign. Things like horse color or hair style, perhaps.
Different horses. Maybe they could have different stats such as increased odds of the opponent missing, steadier stride, or chance of more gold. Small buffs (and maybe debuffs) to change things up a bit.
The special opponents, such as the Green Knight or the Headless Horseman, reappearing after they’ve been defeated so the player can earn gold.
Game’s come a long way
Thu May 29 2025 Cam46138I wrote a review on this game last year and gave it four stars, followed by a few suggestions… and wow. You guys absolutely nailed it. A fully functioning item shop, a post-game, new titles, and knight classes?! It’s insane to see how far this game has come since last June and even now approaching its just one year anniversary, the depth of content would make me think that this game had been out for a while.
That being said, I do have a few more suggestions that could spice the game up a bit :)
- More colors for your heritage and horse armor
- The ability to change heritage colors and symbol mid-journey, rather than being fixed with what you have
- A cloud or in-game saving system that way if you change devices, uninstall, or reset cache, you don’t lose progress
- A ranking system post-castle (after dukedom) that would grant you new titles and cosmetics. (For example, the ability to climb up to king, maybe even emperor, but the ranks would be malleable and based off a total win/loss ratio)
- Gamemodes with modifiers, or special tournament options with the bonus knights
Regardless of if these get considered I genuinely applaud this game and you guys for listening to the community. Here’s to more years of Knight Lancer!
Enjoyable Medieval Mobile Game
Fri May 23 2025 SpruceSodaPicked up on a whim as a fantasy lover, haven’t gotten up by choice since I opened it. (Give or take an hour.) Super fun, it’s got simple but well made and thought out base mechanics that make the experience smooth and tactic, and there’s more going on in the background that adds that extra layer of depth to it.
My one, singular, itty bitty, minor, gripe- is the character creation. Please, please, please, give people whole color palettes to work with when creating their characters- not a row of presets. It enhances the personal side of the experience so much, and maybe just maybe some more diverse hairstyles, i feel like theres 5 versions of a combover on the male preset😭
great lil game, and honestly- smart thinking letting folks write a review to continue playing, definitely got me lol
Great Game; Well Worth the Price
Wed Nov 13 2024 SheldrixI’ve been enjoying the game so far. Love the pixel style graphics and the soundtrack is awesome. I also love the customization (I really appreciate that armor rating isn’t tied to specific pieces but your level so you aren’t forced to use armor you don’t like as much; thank you for doing that) I would also suggest some kind of skill mechanic so your lance doesn’t bounce around so much as you progress. I would also recommend that you alter the game so you don’t have to start the tournament all over again if you get a draw. It felt kinda cheap when this happened to me and I didn’t at least get a rematch. But aside from that, as I said, awesome game!
Possible ideas
Tue Jul 09 2024 ngfxhythjiyDear Creators,
I really enjoyed this game, and I think it has a lot of potential, but I wish there was more choice involved. It feels very linear and the only choices I ever receive are different appearances of armor and how I carry my shield. One idea I had was to creat a map, then you can choose where you wish to travel. Another idea is, instead of receiving an upgrade after winning a tournament you receive money and you can travel to the blacksmith to buy upgrades. Last idea I have is to perhaps offer other events you can participate in (sword fighting, archery). Im not entirely sure about this one thought because you would have to figure out the mechanics.
This is your game though so take it in the direction you wish to take it in and I will be a happy consumer!
Honest review
Sun Mar 02 2025 justagamerman🗿Look, I’m not very picky when it come to games, but this is just AMAZING this is probably the best game on my phone. I can’t stop playing and the looks of the castles keeps impressing me! The game is beautiful, retro graphics were a quaint little touch I don’t really see in games anymore, and then there’s the amazing music. Whoever made it seriously outdid themselves. I can’t get the Cordoba music out of my head! Anyways, this game is amazing. I hope the devs continue to work on it, improve it, and make it the best game in the App Store. Keep up the good work! (PS: I’m too broke to buy the paid version, but if I could I would.)
EDIT: The castles are fun, but I still am too broke the buy the paid version to not watch ads… oh yeah the horses and special rounds are fun too!
Jousting is fun, mechanics are a bit dodgy.
Sat Aug 31 2024 EmicientFirst off, just want to say: I love this game! It’s an arcade-like game that’s an absolute delight… when it works. As echoed by a few other reviews, the hitboxes are a bit wonky at times- but one feature I haven’t heart discussed that I find extremely annoying is how the slo-mo works.
Due to it zooming in as it slows down, your previously pin-point position can be suddenly swerved out of place if you aren’t hyper-focused on adjusting it in time.
The skill ceiling is surprisingly high, though the AI in campaign mode being able to critical hit (and thus kill you instantly) can feel like a cheap denial of skill. On a slightly similar topic, I wish there was more… anything, to campaign mode. There’s one or two mechanics introduced in the later halves and a paltry amount of dialogue, but nothing that makes it feel anywhere more of a “story” than Mario’s goal to save Peach.
I only criticize this game as I genuinely love it, and would like to see it’s current sore spots patched over in future updates. Do give it a shot, it’s absolutely worth a try even with the current low points!
