Let Them In? in IOS

A choice-based simulation game

90/100

Let Them In is a masterclass in tension. It takes the 'Papers, Please' checking mechanic and injects it with a pure shot of adrenaline and horror. There is nothing more terrifying than realizing a visitor's ID is perfectly valid, but their eyes are just slightly too wide to be human. The game excels at making you doubt your own senses.

The minimalist graphics and lo-fi audio work perfectly to create an atmosphere of isolation and dread. You aren't a superhero; you're just a person in a booth, and that vulnerability is what makes the game so effective. It’s one of those rare horror games that stays with you after you've closed the app, making you double-check the lock on your own front door. A must-play for fans of 'analog horror' and psychological thrillers.

I don't understand the appeal of work-simulators that forget to include the 'simulation' part. This is just a glorified sorting task. The mechanics are basic: see a pattern, tap a button. There is no strategy here, only a test of how much repetitive motion your thumb can take before you get bored. It’s the digital equivalent of working an assembly line, but without the paycheck.

The visual style is generic, and the 'challenge' comes purely from speed rather than interesting decision-making. I’ve seen this loop done better in Flash games fifteen years ago. It’s functional, sure, but it’s completely devoid of any creative spark. It’s another title designed to farm ad views rather than provide a meaningful gaming experience.

Let Them In is a psychological horror game that puts you in the shoes of a night-shift security guard at a remote, high-security mansion. Each night, people arrive at the gate claiming they belong inside. You must cross-reference their IDs, check their stories, and use specialized scanning equipment to detect supernatural anomalies. The catch? The entities outside are getting smarter at mimicking human behavior. With a limited amount of time and the weight of your employers' lives on your shoulders, every decision to 'Open the Gate' is a gamble with death.
