Level Devil: A Godsend for Platformer Lovers
Fri Apr 12 2024 RateReviewRepeatAs I was scrolling the App Store for a 2D platformer game, I was delighted to see a pretty cool looking indie game. Obviously, it was Level Devil. (LD.) Out of the 3 games I downloaded that day (Trap Adventure 2, Geometry Dash, Level Devil) I think LD was the best. It takes what TA2 and GD did and did it better. Straightforward-looking levels have the hardest twists, while hard-looking ones are usually easy. The controls are memorable and very easy, consisting of only a left, right, and jumping button. The game gets more challenging as it goes on, which is fun from any game. But LD executes this well, introducing only one new mechanic each gate. (Gates contain levels, and are the stepping stones to the final few levels.) The mechanics slightly get more complex, but they stick around through most levels. And you get used to them. Every time you die is a good practice of trial and error. It takes a bit to perfect a level, but I can say firsthand that NO OTHER GAME gives you a better feeling of victory and satisfaction when your mind clicks to figure out the puzzle. If you like super cool platformers with nice little twists (and buzzsaws), LD is for you. If the developer is reading this, thank you for such a great game. I would have definitely paid.
Pleasantly surprised
Fri Aug 30 2024 DJLayinLoI don’t play too many games on my phone anymore because so many lack originality. Sitting there on the toilet and saw the recommendation so I downloaded it. It sat dormant on one of the last screens of apps for about a week. Until I found myself on that same toilet and thought, “It’s probably really crappy but I’ll give it a spin.” An hour later and I’m hooked. I almost got locked in the Walmart because it was closing time and I hadn’t moved from that spot for at least an hour. It felt like one of the levels trying to get out before they shut the doors. Anyhow, this game is executed very well. It’s easy to pick up and just become immersed in the clever levels. The controls are responsive, there’s plenty of twists of irony and fate, and the sounds are quite satisfying. Since that Devil of a day in the Walmart bathroom I have not had a friend that I’ve recommended it to that has not enjoyed it. Great work! Thank you for the graphics reminiscent of that special 8 bit grey plastic box with a light gun dad gifted us on Christmas of 1985. It took me back…then it moved the floor, then the spikes…I’m kidding. This one is super fun.

Mon Jul 01 2024 LCastejonThis is exactly what I was looking for and didn’t even know it. I don’t download a lot of games….like AT ALL. I loved the Where’s My Water series, but apart from that I have Freecell and Phase 10. So I’m not a gamer or game enthusiast by any stretch, mainly because I despise the busyness of it all. Seriously the overstimulation is so abhorrent to me. I don’t understand how people find the flashing graphics and constant notifications relaxing in any way. Tonight, however, I was looking for something a little fun and distracting and this popped up as a suggestion. Instantly I fell in love with the concept as well as the straightforward game play. 10 minutes in and I’ve already paid for no ads. This game is a showstopper!! Every level I KNOW to expect some nefarious twist….and every level, I laugh uproariously while plummeting to my death 🤣 I think it’s the simplicity of it that makes it so amusing and fun….your brain takes a minute to catch up and then by the time it does, you’ve been got! Thank you for such a pleasant experience….you created an absolute gem.

Thu Feb 29 2024 JRodslegendBut I mean that in a good way. Very fun trial and error platformer. Sadly you can beat it in about 30min. I hope they decide to add a lot more levels, I’d gladly pay some money to support it if this is an ongoing project. Only major issue it has, and thus removing a star for it, is the amount of dropped inputs is ridiculous. You never lose more than 2 seconds a death, but it IS frustrating to die at least once on every level because it doesn’t register you pushing jump. Or even if you are running left or right, the game just stops registering that you are holding the button anymore, usually resulting in you falling to your death. Not sure why this happens but I’m sure it’s a simple fix, will update review when it’s fixed
Update - issue so far seems to have been fixed in latest update, updating to 5 stars!
I HATE THIS GAME SO MUCH IT IS HORRIBLE AND I NEVER WANT TO PLAY ANYTHING EVER LIKE IT AGAIN!
Mon Jul 28 2025 domon palying.So GREAT job on the rage game but I feel like the ads got weirdly persistent as the game want on , it went from every 15 minutes which is the perfect amount of ads to like 5 minutes which is usually when I delete the app cause I know I’m never gonna fall for scam apps , besides that solid game! I hate it so much it makes me want eat a pumpkin whole like a snake out of pure rage , like it’s so horrible I literally deleted the app but first I did play every level but the boss level in one day ,…also , why did you make the boss level have to be done in one sitting , I clicked out of it and I was back to the first level… this upset me so much I got rad of the app , it’s not smart it’s annoying , this is supposed to be a casual sit down and play for 5 minutes kind of app but a sit down for a while and watch 55 ads and if you swap the app away you have to do it all over again

Looking forward to more levels in the future. (hopefully)I have no complaints, even the ads are bearable. Overall an amazing game! Kudos to the developer!
Alright after playing the game for a little while longer I did find a problem. I still believe that its an amazing game but there are sometimes an issue when an Ad is finished. When the game respawns me after watching an Ad I die and it then moves me on as if I completed the level. I still love the game, It doesn’t happen all the time but it has happened enough to become annoying. I’m sure it is an easy fix. Still five starts and I highly recommend!

Sun Jul 14 2024 lyssa 🎀🎀I really liked this app, it was really good and entertaining to play and perfect of your looking for a simple 2d game! but as good as it was , I do have some suggestions. I went through the levels so fast and then at the end I didn’t rlly know how to beat it 😭 but my point is I went through the levels really fast so if you could add more episodes or like another world or new modes so there could be more levels for me to play that would be great, because after your done with the levels your done with the whole game and I really liked playing that game. It would also be nice if you could play two player, that could be one of the modes even! I feel like if you could be able to play this game with a friend it would be twice as fun! that’s all though, this game was really fun overall just really quick to finish. PLS CONSIDER MY SUGGESTIONS 💗

Thu May 15 2025 person>:(This game is the most calming game there is. My wife was about to divorce me because I was scrolling too much TikTok, when I discovered this gem. I started playing this too much, and I was at peace within two minutes of playing. My wife loved me again, my kid was asking to play this game, and I got 10 trillion dollars because the dev is just cool like that. Thank you Level Devil, truly.(make the title calmest game ever)(everyone who did one star needs to get gud) edit
found a bug in the third level of gravity. You can normally jump at the first like second of the level. Could mess up people who are speedrunning nerds and don’t touch grass.

Mon Dec 16 2024 ꧁𖨆Lynn𖨆꧂Okay so I just got the game today found it in my recommendation section and I was reading the reviews and I was all like "Huh okay looks like people enjoy it apparently..(someone played it on their local Walmarts toilet) so hey why not give it a try!" and let me just say... Girl I'm hooked- like I thought it was going to be one of those games where you get an ad everytime you die or go to another level but I was wrong fr the ads are nicely spaced were I don't get overly mad with them. And don't get me wrong when I'm playing and die i get mad and wanna throw my phone across the room but like the game is just so good the phone basically glued to my hands... So good job on making a banger "not troll" game and keep up the good work!!! ❤️❤️❤️

But dev, you gotta do something about those copycats who literally copied the game but just made the character different. Btw this game is amazing. The adds are even a nice touch on the game. (But why are all of them about fake robux games?) I don’t really care about the adds bc they stop me from breaking my tablet and taking a breath. Something that (I personally think) would be cool is if the multi player could be across multiple devices and you could race your buddy to the end. I am now realizing I told myself not to write a review the size of the sun😬 but I guess this game deserves it. It is basically the perfect game. Also Dev do you prefer McDonalds or Taco Bell?
