Level Devil: A Godsend for Platformer Lovers
Fri Apr 12 2024 RateReviewRepeatAs I was scrolling the App Store for a 2D platformer game, I was delighted to see a pretty cool looking indie game. Obviously, it was Level Devil. (LD.) Out of the 3 games I downloaded that day (Trap Adventure 2, Geometry Dash, Level Devil) I think LD was the best. It takes what TA2 and GD did and did it better. Straightforward-looking levels have the hardest twists, while hard-looking ones are usually easy. The controls are memorable and very easy, consisting of only a left, right, and jumping button. The game gets more challenging as it goes on, which is fun from any game. But LD executes this well, introducing only one new mechanic each gate. (Gates contain levels, and are the stepping stones to the final few levels.) The mechanics slightly get more complex, but they stick around through most levels. And you get used to them. Every time you die is a good practice of trial and error. It takes a bit to perfect a level, but I can say firsthand that NO OTHER GAME gives you a better feeling of victory and satisfaction when your mind clicks to figure out the puzzle. If you like super cool platformers with nice little twists (and buzzsaws), LD is for you. If the developer is reading this, thank you for such a great game. I would have definitely paid.

Mon Jul 01 2024 LCastejonThis is exactly what I was looking for and didn’t even know it. I don’t download a lot of games….like AT ALL. I loved the Where’s My Water series, but apart from that I have Freecell and Phase 10. So I’m not a gamer or game enthusiast by any stretch, mainly because I despise the busyness of it all. Seriously the overstimulation is so abhorrent to me. I don’t understand how people find the flashing graphics and constant notifications relaxing in any way. Tonight, however, I was looking for something a little fun and distracting and this popped up as a suggestion. Instantly I fell in love with the concept as well as the straightforward game play. 10 minutes in and I’ve already paid for no ads. This game is a showstopper!! Every level I KNOW to expect some nefarious twist….and every level, I laugh uproariously while plummeting to my death 🤣 I think it’s the simplicity of it that makes it so amusing and fun….your brain takes a minute to catch up and then by the time it does, you’ve been got! Thank you for such a pleasant experience….you created an absolute gem.

Thu Feb 29 2024 JRodslegendBut I mean that in a good way. Very fun trial and error platformer. Sadly you can beat it in about 30min. I hope they decide to add a lot more levels, I’d gladly pay some money to support it if this is an ongoing project. Only major issue it has, and thus removing a star for it, is the amount of dropped inputs is ridiculous. You never lose more than 2 seconds a death, but it IS frustrating to die at least once on every level because it doesn’t register you pushing jump. Or even if you are running left or right, the game just stops registering that you are holding the button anymore, usually resulting in you falling to your death. Not sure why this happens but I’m sure it’s a simple fix, will update review when it’s fixed
Update - issue so far seems to have been fixed in latest update, updating to 5 stars!

Sat Mar 02 2024 Jesus117 16Hello so I’ve reviewed this as 3 stars before and now I changed it to a 5 that reason why is because not just that fact that the developers fixed the problem but they made it even better and that fact that they replied to my review that awesome to know that these developers do respond to there gamers.
I love the game it’s challenging, sort of not really a fan of the controllers though I prefer the game on the PC but honestly mobile it’s good exactly like PC but the controllers are very buggy. I tap to the right it goes and then stops but I still keep my finger there please fix the controllers buggy. I didn’t finish the entire game because I got very annoyed by the controllers.

Sun Jul 14 2024 lyssa 🎀🎀I really liked this app, it was really good and entertaining to play and perfect of your looking for a simple 2d game! but as good as it was , I do have some suggestions. I went through the levels so fast and then at the end I didn’t rlly know how to beat it 😭 but my point is I went through the levels really fast so if you could add more episodes or like another world or new modes so there could be more levels for me to play that would be great, because after your done with the levels your done with the whole game and I really liked playing that game. It would also be nice if you could play two player, that could be one of the modes even! I feel like if you could be able to play this game with a friend it would be twice as fun! that’s all though, this game was really fun overall just really quick to finish. PLS CONSIDER MY SUGGESTIONS 💗

The movement system is very straight forward and easy to use / understand.
All of the areas have something either unique to them or play with the ideas of the previous level in a new way.
The visual style of the game is relaxing as well and doesn’t strain your eyes too much.
I think 1 way they could drastically improve the fun of the game is too (obviously easier said than done) make a “level creator” for people to make their own levels and such. I think this would keep people playing because as it is, while it’s a very fun game, it is temporary as theirs only so many levels.
Great game… just not challenging enough.

However, the simple fact that I downloaded it for the first time and proceeded to beat the game in less than 30 minutes begs the question… where is the challenge? I believe that this game can go places, it just needs to have the difficulty stepped up a few notches. I clicked on the game thinking it would be a very narrowly possible game and that it would take time to beat. This thought was wrong, but I look forward to seeing other releases where the game difficulty matches the description. Like I said, great game, just needs expansion and much more difficulty.

Thu Apr 11 2024 םיכטעהחI love this. I really love this. It’s an amazing game that is entertaining and hilarious. BUT… there is one issue. It’s way to short. I beat this game an an hour of playing (probably less actually). I downloaded it yesterday and I finished yesterday. Please make more levels! This is so fun, we want more!
Also, I did see a game titled “Level Devil 2” on my computer. I dunno if that’s something you did or counterfeit. But, if it’s something you did then you should add it to the App Store/Play Store so then you don’t necessarily have to add more levels to this one. Overall though, THIS GAME IS GREAT! And anyone else contemplating playing this game. Just do it.
A Very Good Game (longish review)
Mon Mar 25 2024 SappholaThe reason it is such a good game is because it is simple. It accomplishes what it sets out to be: a trolling game. Another reason why it is so good is that even though there are adds, each add is spread so far apart between each level that the game is still enjoyable. Tons of mobile games have so many adds that it hinders the gameplay experience. Now, I just got this game, so I don’t know if the number of adds increase or not, but I doubt they will. This game is worthy of a 5 star review, and I hope even more people download it!

Sat Apr 20 2024 Portius SpriggThis game is extremely hard, yet very fun. It’s many features created a great gameplay experience for the player. The many levels consist of one or many gameplay features packed into a couple stages each level. The levels are sometimes extremely hard, but it kind of feels like a time loop. Every time you die to a trap on the ground or some moving spikes , you gain info of where the traps are for after you respawn, and you can then conquer the level after a couple of attempts. The ads aren’t that annoying, only showing up on the last stage of a level or when you die too many times. Great game!
