Lifeline: Halfway to Infinity is a stellar continuation of the Taylor saga. As a critic of narrative-driven games, I find the 'real-time' mechanic of the Lifeline series to be its greatest strength. Receiving a notification that Taylor is busy and will 'be back in an hour' creates a genuine bond; you start to worry about this fictional character like they are a real friend.

The writing remains sharp, witty, and surprisingly tense. Dave Justus has a way of making high-concept sci-fi feel intimate and personal. This installment raises the stakes significantly, dealing with some of the most existential threats Taylor has faced yet.
