Hutch Games knows how to make a vehicle feel heavy, which is the biggest compliment I can give MMX Hill Dash. In an era of floaty arcade racers, the physics here actually matter. You can't just floor it; you have to manage your center of gravity and momentum, or you'll end up as a heap of scrap metal at the bottom of a hill. It reminds me of the old-school trials games where precision was king. The truck variety is decent, and the sense of progression when you finally nail a jump after a few upgrades is genuinely satisfying.
However, the 'conservative' in me bristles at the blatant mobile-first monetization. The difficulty curves aren't always about skill; they're often about whether you've spent enough currency on your 'grip' stat. It turns what could be a masterclass in physics into a bit of a repetitive grind. The visuals are sharp for a mobile title, but the level design starts to feel familiar once you’ve cleared the first few worlds. It’s a good game to kill ten minutes with, but the progression loop is too transparently designed to slow you down unless you're willing to wait or pay.
