Dinsun here. If you remember Scorched Earth or Pocket Tanks, you’ll recognize the DNA in Mad Royale io. It’s a 2D physics battler where you aim your barrel and hope the wind—or the janky physics—doesn't screw you over. It's surprisingly frantic, which is a double-edged sword. The destructible terrain is a nice touch, but it feels less like a strategic element and more like a chaotic mess.

The 'io' elements are slapped on, mainly to justify the battle royale circle. My biggest gripe? The controls. Trying to fine-tune your shot with a touch screen while other players are constantly bumping into you is an exercise in frustration. It’s fine for a five-minute distraction, but it’s too chaotic to be taken seriously as a competitive game. It lacks the 'gentlemanly' pacing that made the original tank artillery games great.
