Dinsun here. I’ve seen plenty of AR gimmicks since the tech hit the App Store, and Magic Fish AR sits right in the middle of that pack. Technically, it's solid—handling a thousand fish on screen without the frame rate tanking is a feat, and the AugmaOS engine clearly has some muscle. But as a 'gamer' looking for depth, I'm left wanting. You tap, you place a crab, you watch a fish swim through a digital line you drew. It’s a toy, not a simulation with any real stakes or progression.

The inclusion of VR modes and machine learning 'PlantID' feels like feature creep. It’s as if the developers threw every API Apple offered into a blender. It’s pretty to look at for ten minutes, but once the novelty of having a shark in your kitchen wears off, there’s nothing to keep you coming back. It’s a conservative 62; it does what it says on the tin, but the tin is mostly empty air.
