I’ve piloted a lot of mechs since the 90s, and Mech Assemble is... adequate. It’s got the 'sweet guns' and the robot customization you’d expect. What’s surprising is that it isn't quite as 'pay-to-win' as the storefront suggests. You can actually make progress just by playing, though you'll be constantly tempted by 'special deals' that flash across the screen.
The combat is simple—maybe too simple for someone looking for Armored Core levels of depth—but it works for a mobile title. It’s easy to pick up, and I respect the 'no registration' approach. It’s honest about what it is: a flashy, robot-hitting-robot action game. It lacks a soul or a compelling story, but if you just want to see metal crunching metal on your commute, it does the job.
