Merge Kingdoms is a polished and colorful take on the 'merge-to-build' genre. It manages to balance the simple satisfaction of merging items with a broader sense of progression and discovery. Unlocking new areas of the map by discovering high-tier items provides a great sense of accomplishment that keeps you engaged for long sessions.

The character designs are charming, and the world is filled with interesting lore and mini-objectives that prevent the merging from feeling like a chore. While it does follow many of the standard 'energy-based' tropes of the genre, the rate of item discovery and the variety of things you can build make it feel more rewarding than many of its competitors. It’s a great 'cozy' game for players who love organizing and growing their own digital world.

Another day, another 'Merge' game. This time we have knights and dragons, but the gameplay is the same tired routine: drag A to B to get C, then wait four hours for your 'energy' to refill so you can do it again. The fantasy elements are surface-level and don't affect the mechanics in any meaningful way. It's designed to be a time sink that eventually pressures you into buying more energy. I’ve seen this a hundred times, and it never gets better. It’s just corporate game design at its most cynical.
