Dinsun Review
I’ve seen this song and dance before. Millie and Molly tries very hard to pull at the nostalgia strings of anyone who owned a Game Boy, and while the pixel work is honest, the actual meat of the game is standard puzzle fare. It’s a Sokoban-style logic test that works perfectly well, but it doesn't bring a single new idea to the table. The levels are designed with a competence I respect, but I found myself finishing them more out of habit than genuine excitement.
The rewind mechanic is a necessary concession for modern players who lack the patience for old-school restarts, though it arguably trivializes some of the harder late-game puzzles. It’s a 'safe' game. It doesn't crash, it doesn't have predatory microtransactions, and it doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. But in a market flooded with innovative indie puzzles, being 'competent' just isn't enough to earn a high mark in my book. It’s a decent way to kill twenty minutes on a train, and that’s about the extent of its ambition.
