The AI is competent enough for a quick casual game during a commute, though it won't be challenging Grandmasters. It features several difficulty levels, making it accessible for beginners and intermediate players alike. Dinsun here. I appreciate the technical achievement of putting a functional chess engine on a watch, but I have to ask: why? The interface is as good as it can be on such a tiny screen, but mis-tapping a move is all too easy. It’s a novelty.

For a quick puzzle or a few moves while waiting for the bus, it’s fine. But if you’re serious about chess, you’ll reach for your phone or a real board. It’s a gimmick, but a well-executed one. I’m giving it a pass for the sheer effort of making it usable.
