My Talking Tom Friends+ takes the virtual pet genre and turns it up to eleven. Usually, these games are about one-on-one interaction, but managing all six characters at once feels more like a light version of The Sims. It’s chaotic in a fun, manageable way. The characters are full of personality—Hank’s obsession with snacks and Angela’s love for fashion really shine through in their animations and reactions.

The removal of ads is a huge deal here, as the original free-to-play version could be quite overwhelming with its monetization. Here, you just play, earn tokens, and buy things. It’s a much more relaxed experience. The mini-games are surprisingly high quality and varied enough that they could almost be standalone apps. While it’s definitely aimed at a younger audience, there’s a 'Tamagotchi' style charm that even older players might appreciate. It’s bright, loud, and constantly rewarding.

I don't get the appeal. It’s like Tamagotchi but with six screaming cats that need constant attention. The UI is a cluttered mess of icons, currencies, and ads. The 'gameplay' consists of dragging a character to a toilet or a bed. It’s repetitive, unrewarding, and clearly designed to keep kids tapping until they accidentally buy a pack of virtual coins. As a 40-year-old who values game design, this feels like a product designed by a committee of psychologists rather than game developers. It’s loud, obnoxious, and utterly devoid of soul.
