★★★★★ Love, but there’s a Bug

There is a bug in the cat book. It’s not bad, just after I click on a specific cat to look at their “profile” if I click their album, and then “X” to go back to the profile and then “X” to go back to the book, the screen goes blank. Not blank exactly, the background stays and the music keeps playing, and the top right corner options are there, but other than that it’s “blank” there is no way to get back to the yard. I have to leave the app in order to “reset” it, but it happens every time. And that sometimes changes the cats in my yard, so I have to make sure I take any photos I want right away because they might not be there when I reopen the app. I’ve looked around the cat book and other albums, and it only happens in this one spot. Does anyone else have this issue? It’s not a huge deal, I just won’t access their album from the cat book, but if the option is there, it should work. I do love this app! It’s so fun and the art is cute. I love that you can “collect” cats and get the photos. I had the first version and loved it. I hope I’m gonna love this one just as much!

This is the perfect game. You don’t need to spend hours (nor should you) perfecting your lawn, anyone can save for the items the really want without NEEDING to purchase the premium. Anyone who can spend the dollar most definitely should, but those who can’t aren’t missing the BEST got critical gameplay. All things perfectly balanced. I love visiting partner’s and friends’ yards, though I wish what cats we saw at their yard was the same as their screen. I love completing my album of cats as well as purchasing the rotating store of lawn decor. I also loved having my IRL cat in-game when I could spend the dollar on premium. As a whole this game is my absolute favorite app. As an animal lover, the dog representation it top-tier. The animation style? Peak. The cat diversity? Ginormous. Hotel? Trivago. From the broke college student, thank you for the perfect game.

★★★★★ Like the original but worse

I really love this game, I’ve been playing it on and off ever since I found it however many years ago. I was really excited to see they made a new one, seemingly with new and improved graphics and features. I was disappointed to see that some toys I liked in the previous game aren’t there, and some that you used to automatically have in the og game you have to wait for seasonally. Also, you can’t transfer silver fish into gold anymore, which is definitely my biggest gripe. I know some people like that you have to fix the toys you buy, but personally I don’t. I don’t like how when you do fix it, sometimes it takes away color or makes it look a lot worse (some toys look fine when repaired, but others don’t). There are so many toys to buy, I don’t want to spend money on the same one I already have. My over all point is that the original game was great, I think they made a couple of great upgrades, but they took away great features that we already had. Why make it worse?

★★★★★ Better in some ways worse in others

I was really exited when I learned that they Made a second Neko Atsume I loved the first game and spent hours just collecting cats and buying goodies for them. The second game looks better than the first, with more lawns to choose from and expansions, but after a while I began to find little problems with the game. For example the fact that goodies can break disappoints me. Also from what I saw cats no longer give gold fish as a gift and you can only exchange gold fish for silver fish. This makes it nearly impossible to get gold fish without paying real money on the game. Also the visiting system(go out) is kinda flawed. Some things I did enjoy were the appearance of new cats, goodies, and yard expansions. Overall I really enjoyed the game but I would personally rather play the first one. Maybe focus on finding a way to give the players gold fish without making them pay for it. (This whole review was made after about 1 hour of playtime, I’m sorry if it is a little inaccurate, but this is my experience)

★★★★★ Not as good as the first

To start, hit-point removed more compared to the first game than they added -.- second, I hate the durability system, you get scammed out of around half the cost of the original item only for the fixed version to still look broken (I've compared directly to the not ruined version of items) really they've only added a couple new pieces of furniture (after removing over fifty percent of what was in the first game) and a couple new animations/specialty cats, while at the same time it takes so much longer to save up for anything (whether it costs gold or silver fish) other all, this really just feels like a stripped back and WiFi-dependent (the cats in your yard literally won't switch out unless you have a good internet connection) version of the first game. If you really want more Neko Atsume, just play the first one again, I promise it will be a much more pleasant experience. I would also like to add that Hit-Point got bought out by a large gambling company, they can AT LEAST afford to have all of the items originally created for the first game -.-

I used to play the original Neko Atsume when I was younger, and I loved it. Sadly, I had lost my account because I didn’t back it up. I was pretty sad about it because I had many accomplishments made on there, but I didn’t feel like restarting all over again. Then my friend texts me that she just got Neko Atsume2, and she wanted me to get it so we could visit each others’ yards, a new feature. This friend had the old Neko Atsume before, and I felt I couldn’t have caught up to her amount of things unlocked if I downloaded it now. But now, we’re both on the same page with this new Neko Atsume, and I absolutely love it. I think the visit yard feature is a 10/10, too. Just like the old Neko Atsume, there aren’t any ads unless you request one. Perfect game for all ages.

★★★★★ Gets worse by the second

Been waiting months for this release ever since it was first announced. The first game is fun but pretty simple. When they said they were releasing a whole new game i was expecting much more to be added. All this did was take away everything good and add everything bad, if anything. To start, the first game had 54 pages of goodies, this one now has only 13. With only two new items, a tissue box and a tote bag. You are no longer able to trade fish for gold fish, only in app purchase. Next, only one new cat has been added. Also, items now deteriorate after one use of a cat and you must pay to replace it every time. So many fans waited months for this even with the delay we were so excited to see what they “worked so hard on”. This whole game couldve simply been an update. A horrible one at that. Im sure there are still things to be added, but all that time just for less features, a fraction of the items, and a worse experience over all. So disappointing.
