I don't understand the modern obsession with 'wacky' physics. Back in my day, if a character moved, it was because you pressed a button and the controls were precise. Party Home Derby is the opposite of that. It’s a collection of mini-games where half the 'fun' is supposed to come from the controls not working properly. It’s exhausting. It feels less like a game and more like a tech demo for a physics engine that wasn't quite finished.

The 'party' aspect is equally disappointing. There’s very little strategy involved; it mostly boils down to who can mash buttons faster or who gets luckier with the collision detection. The visual style is that generic, low-poly look that every indie developer uses when they don't have an art director. If you're looking for a serious competition, look elsewhere. This is for people who want to laugh at a screen for five minutes and then forget the game ever existed. I prefer games that leave a lasting impression, not just a headache.
