Pictionary PRO in IOS

Our Site Score

79/100

Pictionary Pro takes the classic drawing game and optimizes it for the mobile screen. The drawing tools are surprisingly responsive, which is usually the make-or-break point for games like this. Even on a smaller phone screen, the brush smoothing makes my 'terrible' drawings look somewhat recognizable. It’s a great way to stay connected with friends through quick, asynchronous rounds of sketching and guessing.

The 'Pro' aspect comes through in the competitive ranking and the variety of categories available. It avoids the common pitfall of having too many repeating words, keeping the experience fresh. While the ads can be a bit frequent in the free version, the social interaction and the hilarity of misinterpreting a friend's 'masterpiece' make it worth the download.

Dinsun Review

Drawing on a glass screen has never felt quite right to me, and Pictionary Pro doesn't do much to solve that inherent problem. Unless you're using an Apple Pencil, most 'drawings' are just illegible blobs. The game is fine, but it suffers from the same issues every online drawing game has: trolls who draw inappropriate things and people who just write the word out instead of drawing it.

The 'Pro' features are mostly just padding—meaningless ranks and slightly more colors to choose from. It’s a decent enough implementation of the rules, but playing this with strangers is a far cry from the hilarious chaos of playing the physical game with friends in a living room. It’s a sterile, often frustrating experience that feels more like a social experiment than a game. I’ll stick to my paper and markers.
