Pocket Skate in IOS

Rad Skating Action!

Our Site Score

75/100

Pocket Skate is a stylish, minimalist tribute to skateboarding culture. It sheds the complexity of titles like Skate City in favor of a toy-like, approachable charm. The art style—low poly with a bright, clean palette—is visually refreshing. It feels like playing with a digital Tech Deck, where the goal is simply to find a cool line and nail a sequence of tricks.

The controls are physics-based and require a bit of a learning curve to master the timing of ollies and flip tricks. It's not a deep simulation, but it captures the 'zen' of skating—just you, a board, and a smooth concrete park. While it could use more maps, the current selection is well-designed with plenty of rails, bowls, and ledges. It's a perfect 'waiting-in-line' game that provides quick bursts of satisfaction.

Dinsun Review

Dinsun here. I grew up in the era of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, so I have high standards for how a virtual board should feel. Pocket Skate is... fine. It's an arcade title that doesn't pretend to be anything else. The controls are responsive, which is more than I can say for most 'flick' based skate games on the store. However, the progression is shallow. You perform tricks, you get points, you unlock a new hat. It’s the kind of gameplay loop that wears thin after forty minutes for someone of my vintage.

It’s colorful and the frame rate holds up, but it feels like a toy rather than a game. I don't see the 'weight' in the physics. It’s too floaty. If you're looking for something to kill five minutes, this is acceptable, but don't expect it to stay installed for a year. I’m being conservative with the score because I believe a game should offer more than just a aesthetic vibe.
