I’ll give Primatus this: it actually tries to use the player's brain. The evolution mechanics have some depth, and the resource management isn't just a series of timers. However, it’s bogged down by a dry presentation and a tutorial that feels like reading a textbook. The interface is cluttered with icons that aren't explained well, and the 'end-game' becomes a slog of micro-management. It’s an okay distraction for a flight, but it lacks the 'hook' that makes a great strategy game truly addictive. It’s respectable but boring.
