Knights of Grayfang is a love letter to the classic KEMCO-style JRPGs that many of us grew up with. It strikes a fantastic balance between nostalgia and modern mobile convenience. The core mechanic involves a unique 'Vampiric' twist where characters can utilize blood-based skills, adding a layer of risk-reward to the turn-based combat. You have to manage your resources carefully, deciding when to expend HP for a devastating attack.

The 2D pixel art is charming and evocative of the 16-bit era, but the character portraits and UI are crisp and modern. The story is a standard but engaging fantasy tale of rebellion and ancient lineages. What I really appreciated was the lack of forced grinding; the game respects your time while still offering enough depth in its equipment and skill systems to satisfy veterans. It’s a solid, high-quality RPG that proves there’s still plenty of life in traditional turn-based adventures.

KEMCO puts out these RPGs like a factory. Knights of Grayfang is a perfectly serviceable 20-hour experience, but it feels like it was designed by a committee looking at a 1995 design document. The 'Blood Gauge' is a nice attempt to vary the combat, but it doesn't change the fact that you're just clicking through menus against enemies you've fought in a dozen other skins.

The writing is standard 'chosen one' fare with some vampire flavoring. It’s not offensive, but it certainly isn't going to win any awards for narrative depth. It’s the kind of game you play when you want to turn your brain off and grind. It’s comfortable, like an old pair of shoes, but those shoes are starting to fall apart from overuse.
