Ready Steady Bang is a masterpiece of minimalist aesthetics and high-tension gameplay. It’s a 1v1 quick-draw duel where your only goal is to tap the screen faster than your opponent when the word 'BANG' appears. It sounds simple, but the 'Steady' part is what gets you. The delay between 'Ready' and 'Bang' is randomized, leading to nerve-wracking moments of anticipation where a false start means instant death.
The animation style is incredible—charming, stick-figure cowboys with dozens of unique (and often hilarious) death animations. Whether you’re playing against the increasingly difficult AI or a friend on the same device, the game is a blast. It is a perfect example of a game that does one thing perfectly. It’s stylish, fast, and incredibly satisfying to finally outdraw that level-10 computer opponent.
This is how you do a simple mobile game. It doesn't pretend to be an epic; it’s a game about waiting for a word and tapping a screen. But it has more personality in its two-frame animations than most 3D games on the store. The way your little cowboy dies in a variety of hilarious ways is genuinely funny. It’s a pure test of reflexes, which, unfortunately for me, aren't what they were twenty years ago.
The minimalist look is great—it’s clean and iconic. But let’s be real, it’s a very limited experience. Once you’ve beaten the ten outlaws, there’s zero reason to go back unless you have a friend nearby to play the two-player mode. It’s a great little 'distraction' app, but it lacks any sort of staying power. It’s a joke that’s funny the first three times you hear it, then it’s just a fact. I like it, but I can't call it a 'must-have'.
Performance: Flawless; the stick-figure animations are smooth and responsive.

Challenge a friend on a single device. The screen splits into two halves, and the first person to tap after the 'BANG' wins the round. Best of five rounds takes the match.
Tapping before the 'BANG' counts as a foul, giving your opponent a free shot to take you down.
