Real Pool 3D 2 is a solid, dependable pool sim that prioritizes realistic physics over arcade flashy-ness. The ball collisions and spin (English) feel very natural, which is the make-or-break factor for any billiards game. The 3D view is excellent, allowing you to walk around the table to line up shots just like you would in real life.

The inclusion of both 8-ball and 9-ball modes, along with a fairly robust online tournament system, gives the game plenty of longevity. I did find the cues to be a bit grindy to unlock, but the core 'free' experience is so technically sound that it’s hard to complain. If you want a pool game that actually feels like you're playing on felt, this is one of the better options on the market.

Pool games have been around since the dawn of digital entertainment, and frankly, I’ve played better versions on Windows 95. Real Pool 3D 2 gets the physics mostly right—the way the balls deflect and take spin is acceptable—but the soul of the game is buried under 'VIP' memberships and shiny cue upgrades that feel more like RPG gear than sports equipment.

The 3D visuals are sharp enough, I suppose, but the UI is cluttered with 'special offers' and seasonal passes. As a conservative gamer, I want a game where my skill with the cue determines the win, not how many 'legendary' gems I’ve sunk into a stick with magical stats. It's a decent time-waster if you can ignore the constant prodding to open your wallet, but it lacks the quiet, focused atmosphere of a real pool hall.
