Rooftop Snipers is absolute chaotic perfection. It’s a two-button physics battler that will have you screaming with laughter (or frustration) within minutes. The simplicity of the controls—one button to jump, one button to shoot—belies the hilarious difficulty of trying to aim a wobbly sniper rifle while your character flails about.
It’s best played in local multiplayer, where the physical proximity of your opponent adds to the tension. The random environments and wacky character skins keep every round feeling fresh. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, and that's exactly why it works so well. It’s the ultimate 'just one more round' game for friends.
Rooftop Snipers is part of a specific subgenre of indie games that rely entirely on intentionally terrible physics to generate humor. The controls are agonizingly restrictive: you have a button to jump and a button to shoot. Your character flails wildly, making aiming an exercise in pure RNG. If you have a friend sharing the keyboard or tablet with you, the sheer absurdity of the mechanics can result in genuine laughter for the first few rounds.
However, once the initial joke of the ragdoll physics wears off, you are left with an incredibly hollow experience. There is no depth, no strategy to master, and no progression. It relies entirely on the social dynamic of local multiplayer to carry its lack of design. Playing against the AI is a miserable, frustrating experience. I cannot score a game highly when its primary mechanic is built around intentionally frustrating the user, even if it is played for laughs. It is a novelty toy, not a complete game.
Performance: Physics engine behaves erratically by design.
Buy if: You are sitting next to a friend and need a quick, absurd icebreaker.
Skip if: You are playing alone or expect precise controls.

Rooftop Snipers is a chaotic two-button sniper game. Choose your character and engage in a series of rooftops duels where the goal is simple: shoot your opponent off the building! With wobbly physics, random maps, and various weapons (including tommy guns and beach balls), no two matches are ever the same. Play in single-player mode against a challenging AI or grab a friend for hilarious local 2-player action.
Hilarious physics-driven movement
Local two-player mode on one device
Variety of outfits and character skins
Randomized maps and weather effects
Fast-paced, 5-point matches
Because your character wobbles constantly, timing is everything. Press and hold the shoot button to raise your arm, and release it when the gun is level with your opponent. Jumping at the same time can help you dodge incoming fire and stabilize your aim.
The game shines in 2-player mode. Both players share the same screen, using controls on opposite sides of the device. The first to reach five points wins the match and earns bragging rights.
Yes, Rooftop Snipers works great on iPad, which offers more space for the two-player controls.
