Scribblenauts Unlimited is the ultimate 'imagination' game. The fact that you can type almost any word and have that object appear in the game is still magical after all these years. The 'Unlimited' version adds so much more depth with the object editor and the massive open worlds to explore.
It’s a perfect family game because it encourages creativity and vocabulary. The puzzles often have dozens of solutions—you can solve a problem with a 'giant winged fire-breathing toaster' just as easily as you can with a 'ladder.' It’s a joyful, playful experience that never gets old.
Dinsun here. Scribblenauts is an achievement in programming, I'll give it that. The fact that I can type in 'Giant Purple Flying Toaster' and the game actually makes it is impressive every single time. It’s a wonderful tool for kids, but even for an old dog like me, there’s a lot of fun to be had seeing how the game reacts to your inputs. The mobile port is surprisingly faithful, though the typing can get tedious without a physical keyboard.
The real issue is the challenge. Most puzzles can be solved with a 'Jetpack' and a 'Ray Gun.' If you actually try to be creative, the game is a blast, but it doesn't really force you to. It’s a very safe, family-friendly experience. I’d have liked to see more 'Unlimited' features that actually pushed my brain, rather than just my dictionary. Still, it’s one of the most unique things on the App Store.

Scribblenauts Unlimited takes the classic create-anything gameplay and expands it into a massive open world. Play as Maxwell and solve puzzles across dozens of seamless levels by summoning any object you can think of. Use adjectives to modify your creations (like a 'giant purple flying car') and explore the backstories of Maxwell's 41 siblings. This version also includes a powerful Object Editor to create truly unique items and share them with the community.

Don't just spawn objects; modify them! Adding 'friendly' to a monster makes it help you, and adding 'flying' to a house can help you reach high Starites. Adjectives are the secret to solving the most difficult puzzles.
